he lays there on the damp, dewy lawn in the park, just staring at the stars above with tears in his eyes.

the stars above twinkled, just like how her eyes did whenever she saw him, a spark of euphoria and excitement.

as he stares at the dreamy lights in the sky, a single tear rolls down his cheek from the corner of his eye.

"she's gone. she's never coming back. not tomorrow, not in a week, not in a month, never."

another drop of tear leaks from his eye, chasing its previous friend down his cheek, and off the side of his face.

before he knows, his face is damp from his tears, now streaming down his face like an overflowing stream.
