Mike would stand there, rendering himself into complete silence, along with Anna, as for few moments the tension between husband and wife would steadily begin to grow in the space that was left in between them now.

He knew the conversation was well and truly long over due, but watching his wife slowly furrow her brow, and the corner of her eyes would soon crease afterwards, Mike could see that he was only testing her patience now with the silence basking in the air.

As for Mike, that would only be the easy part of this conversation if alternatively Anna would guess what was troubling Mike as she had always been best known for being able to read other people's actions and expressions. But unfortunately for Mike, it was so much more complicated then just that, as truth be told Mike didn't know where to begin the conversation that he had been expecting to have with Anna for a while now.

So clearing his throat quite loudly now, he could see the the concern mixed with curiosity swimming through her dark eyes and immediately Mike could feel an involuntary quiver take control of every nerve ending and every fibre in his being. And just like that, he really thought he was going to be sick once he locked eyes with his beautiful wife again, to realise just now how much of an asshole he had been by treating her so unfairly behind her back that he couldn't find the right words to begin with.

"Mike, honey are you okay? You look a little pale I think you should take a seat." Anna was the first to break the silence now that would blanket the air between husband and wife, as all Mike could do was follow her instructions by taking a seat by the foot of the bed along with Anna who had taken a seat to his right. He knew now he couldn't keep this facade on, he has already dug his toes into the grave he would soon be joining, so he knew he had to speak sooner rather then later.

So with a deep, miserable breath, he would pull his eyes down toward the floor. Vaguely more interested in his socked toes now then he was with his wife's confrontational stance, who would be sitting there, in complete silence and waiting patently, which only gave Mike more of a reason to feel worse then he already felt to begin with.

"I'm so sorry Anna," Mike would begin, and his voice would crack from the guilt that he felt for her. "I really don't know what to say, I didn't mean for it to happen in the first place, but then again I would by lying to you if I said I didn't want it to happen in the first place."

And as Mike had not expected, second would come the word vomit hitting the tip of his tongue and before he could make it stop it was all too late once he quickly snapped his eyes up from the ground below his feet to Anna who had remained silent this whole time. But he could see something different in the way she would present herself, no longer would she have the twinkle in her dark eyes, or the periwinkle smile playing along her lips, no there was none of that, that Mike had grown so fondly of. As she would present herself as more of a stony look. A look that would pierce into Mike's own eyes, which only made his skin crawl.

"What are you talking about?" Through gritted teeth Anna would say, and Mike had the bite back the tears as he would conflicted and confused of how to lay it down gently with Anna.

"Anna I just want you to know, just how much I fucking love you, and I never meant to have acted upon how I truly felt for them but I just want you to-"

"Are you cheating on me, Michael?" Anna would slice through The criss-cross of jumbled words Mike was failing to produce all in one sentence and all that Mike could do now was let out a involuntarily gasp, his eyes widening, feeling his heart pounding hard against his chest at the bitter sounding word that cleared the airwaves between each Anna and himself.

Cheating.

Fucking cheating!

It sounded worse, it sounded disgusting, almost vile coming from Anna then it would have inside his own mind, and just like that he couldn't hold back his heavy emotions anymore. The hardest part had already began once Anna had already squeezed it out of him, so all that was left for Mike was to tell her everything, to finally set himself free with the truth.
