I took the first step out of the airport. Bye bye old life, hello Korea! I got into a cab and went to your new address. I've never actually seen it, but it looked great in the reviews! As soon as I got there, I paid the driver and got out, admiring the building from the outside before going in.

Luckily the complex had an elevator, having to carry a suitcase up the stairs would have been impossible. Once I was in front of the door I paused for a second. I was really excited, but also quite nervous. What if the room is actually awful? I opened it, but was surprised as soon as I looked inside. It even looked better than said in the reviews!

Before unpacking, I walked out of my apartment and knocked on my neighbours door. A huge guy in suit and sunglasses opened the door. I was taken aback for a second, but quickly came back to reality. "Hello! My name is Charlotte, I'm the new neighbour. I was wondering if you wanted to come over for dinner." I heard a loud noise from the living room, followed by a high pitched scream. "And of course everyone is welcome!" I quickly added.

The man gave me a stern look, giving me the shivers. "I don't actually live here, and I'll be going soon anyway." I looked at him for a second, trying to figure out what to say next. "Then could you perhaps ask the ones that live here? I would love to meet them." I said happily. "I'm sorry, but I can't let you meet them." The man said coldly.
"Why not?" I asked confused. He didn't live here anyway! "I just can't. Now stop talking and go back inside. Don't try again."

The man closed the door, leaving me confused but also somewhat angry. That was seriously uncalled for! He could've at least explained why not. A bit sad I went back inside. After putting the most important things in place, I searched the internet for the closest convenience store. Luckily it was just around the corner.

Since I was really hungry I decided not to shop for too long. I just got some dinner, but as I walked down the aisle I suddenly got an idea. I quickly got some more ingredients and put them in the basket. "Are you holding a party?" The cashier asked laughingly. "Sort of!" I said back. I quickly went home again and started cooking.

"Finally!" I said as I sat down on the couch. Luckily enough the place was already decorated, which saved a lot of time and money. I devoured the food like I hadn't eaten anything in days while watching Netflix, because who doesn't love a good show!

When I finished the food, I did the dishes and started the plan. Baking a cake! I can at least leave a good impression in that way if I can't visit them. I put on my favourite playlist, namely all stray kids songs, and started baking. After about an hour the cake was finally done! It wasn't a masterpiece, but still looked quite nice.

I put it on a plate and went next door. Since it was already 10 pm I just softly knocked on the door, however there was no reply. I quickly wrote a note and shove it under the door, leaving the cake right in front of it.

Hello, this is Charlotte, your new neighbour! I baked this for you, I hope you like it! I'm still a bit confused as for why I can't meet you, but of course I respect that decision. Please enjoy it!

I went inside again and decided to stay quiet for a while, to see if I could hear the neighbours. Maybe they were home, but weren't allowed to meet anyone? It's kind of weird, but I'm sure they have their reasons. I heard their door open, followed by a loud scream. "THE NEIGHBOUR LEFT US A CAKE!" I chuckled softly. "WOAH, REALLY?" another voice screamed excited.

I guess they like it! I was about to go to bed, but suddenly I saw a note slipped under my door.

Dear Charlotte,

Thank you so much for the cake! It was delicious! Everyone loved it a lot. I guess you already heard, but sadly we aren't allowed to meet, but what about writing each other notes? I really want to know more about you. The others probably won't like it, so let's write them in secret, and put the notes under our doormats! Goodnight X
