Connor was returning to the office today.

Gavin was a mess.
Ever since the revolution, he has had innumerable regrets surrounding a certain android. A few months back, when Connor was still in the office, Gavin basically abused him. At that time he still thought of Connor as just a piece of plastic with no soul or humanity. He feels... Disappointed? In himself.

He wasn't used to feeling this way. He doesn't like to admit defeat, but this time is different. It felt like if he didn't apologize, his world would fall apart.
His regrets had been eating him away from the inside out.

Why did Connor make him feel so.... Sorrowful?

Gavin started to get ready and, without noticing, he fixated a little more on making himself look presentable. He added a little gel to his hair, actually washed his face, and even went for a nicer long sleeved red shirt. He added his signature leather jacket to the mix, bunching the sleeves up to his elbows, as to see the red underneath.

Right as he was about to leave, he noticed he had forgotten a certain baby blue gift bag, of which had black paper sticking out haphazardly from the top. Neatly taped to the side was a envelope with only 'Connor' sloppily written on it in blue ink.

He grabbed the bag and carefully placed in in his backpack, as to not damage it.

The ride was short, only a few blocks to drive in his old Impala.

He arrived at the office, placed his backpack on the back of his chair and headed to the break room to grab a coffee. He grabbed two of the cheap paper cups and filled both of them with coffee, only adding sugar and creamer to one, mixing it in with a small straw.
To Gavin, Connor seemed like the kind of person to only eat sweet stuff.

Making sure no one was around to see, he placed the gift bag and coffee on Connors desk. He arrives at 7am sharp everyday, always dragging a tired Hank in behind him.
It was about 6:48 so the coffee should still be warm when he gets here.
Gavin never has arrived this early, usually slumping in at about noon, but today was special.

The minutes ticked by monotonously. Much slower than usual. Every time the door opened, he perked up from his paperwork to eagerly see if it was the android. It felt like hours before Connor finally arrived, basically dragging Hank in by his shirt collar.
Everyone looked up from their paperwork and gave him a sweet smile or a 'hello', but Gavin saw the android and immediately looked back down at his computer, careful not to make any eye contact.

Connor was wearing his usual white button up, but his signature cyberlife jacket was missing, and unlike usual, he was wearing a bright blue tie, with small yellow triangles splattered all over it. Gavin appreciated the change, it really suited the eccentric android. The months spent without Connor made Gavin realize how much he cared for the pale skinned boy. When Gavin walked in the office everyday, he expected to see that same faint blue glow coming from Connors desk, but it never arrived. When he sat in the break room, the he missed seeing Connor walk in and enjoy whatever they had to say on the news that day. The little things that Connor did made his heart feel like it was beating at 99 million miles an hour, not that he would ever admit it to the Android.

As the deviant got to his desk, he noticed the small bag delicately placed on his desk, along with the coffee sitting patiently beside it. As he sat, he picked up the bag, seeing the envelope taped to the side, he gently pulled the tape off and opened the letter.

Connor,
I know this is late, but I need to apologize. The way I treated you was very uncalled for, and I have no excuse. I hope you'll accept my peace offering? I saw this and immediately thought of you. Side note: I have no idea if androids can eat or not, but I felt like since I wouldn't accept your coffee, I can make up for it and maybe you'll accept mine?
Sorry,
Gavin.

The Android face lit up with happiness. He didn't know what this feeling was, but it felt like some had set free a bunch of pigeons in his stomach. He would have to ask Hank later, and make sure he wasn't sick.
He opened the bag, and pulled out some of the tissue paper and saw some black fabric inside, he pulled it out revealing a pair of cute knee high socks with tiny little St. Bernards embroidered into them. They looked just like Sumo! This was the first gift Connor had ever received. He was definitely gonna have to thank Gavin later.

Gavin watched Connor open his gift. The light blue blush that coated his face as he read the note was enough to turn Gavin beet red. When Connor finally placed the note to the side, and opened the bag, he could see a smile consume the androids whole face. Connor stole a glance in Gavin's direction. Gavin immediately looked back down to his computer so Connor wouldn't notice him staring. Connor placed the bag, and it's gift, in his backpack, gently. He scooted up to his desk, tidied a bit and took a sip from the coffee. Connors every move set free 100 more butterflies in Gavin's stomach.
