The Meeting

They were all gathered in the living room, surrounded by multiple bodies of towels. Glances of confusion were constantly being shared between them. And also glances of fear. Jonathan sat arrogantly on the sofa. The Smith twins sitting on the same sofa as him. Maribel sat in the leather living chair with Anne sitting next to her dangling feet. And the Sebastians were all sitting in a row on the ground near the sofa. Mr. Hawkins kindly smiled at them from a couple of feet away, also sitting Indian-style on the ground. "Well, Mr. Shangles was too impatient and kept insisting me to do this meeting. So, here we are." Stated Mr. Hawkins playfully. On both his sides were two of those colorful bodies. After he spoke everyone kept silent, waiting for a continuation of his meeting. But he just kept smiling at them. "Uh, Chief, what exactly is this meetin' for?" Inquired Gonzales lowly. "Ah! Well, you see these bodies here? They all mean something. They all have the same thing. Can you tell me what it is?" The Chief chimed, calmly surfing his eyes over each extraordinarian. "They all have different colors." Indifferently spoke Maribel. He nodded confidently, telling her to continue. "The colors represent what every extraordinarian should have." The others stared at Maribel who only observed the colorful bodies. "And what is that?" Asked Anne with pure wonder. Maribel confidently and energetically raised from her seat and approached one of the bodies. "First is love: which is this pink towel, passion: which is the red towel, trust: the green one over by the stomach, and… extraordinariness which is the purple one." She informed, looking at the Chief once she finished. He brushed her hair with his rough hand and wore a smile of a proud man. "But now that I have a chance--" she spoke so low that Gonzales couldn't help but interrupt. "But Chief, I still don't understand what this is all 'bout. Are any of these bodies useful at all?"

"Well, they are pretty good at twister." Mr. Hawkins remarked, a sort of sheepish expression over his face. Gonzales' intrigued expression instantly became flat. His dimmed eyes widened a bit and his thin lips became like a line. "I hope you all have that in mind for the rest of your stay. And I made a lot of them because each room will have one. They are only a reminder, you don't have to take care of it." Explained the Chief. "But, Mr. Hawkins, sir, don't you think those are too many… bodies?" Taylor asked, weirdly looking at the bodies. "Yeah, I mean, there's only five rooms." Joined Hernandez. "There's never too many!" Once he exclaimed that the room grew silent. His body became tense and he slowly began to stare at their faces suspiciously. It was a bit frightening how he would be so gleeful and joyous for quite a long time and then suddenly become so serious and fearsome. "And… this atmosphere… it feels uneasy. Is everything alright?" Everyone laid their eyes upon Jonathan nervously and almost compulsively. "None of you know how to play a game, huh?" Jonathan chuckled lowly, his arms crossed and his hips nearly falling off the brink of the sofa. "Jonathan, I'll need to see you in my office." Murmured Mr. Hawkins, his face turning serious. His eyes widened with his lips pulled into a lethal frown "Now." Jonathan rolled his dark eyes and scoffed, dragging himself out of his seat and walking towards the office. Mr. Hawkins glowed one more smile to the extraordinarians and made his way to his office. "Well let's take these bodies to our rooms." Commanded Hernandez passively. He pushed himself out of his seat with both his arms and advanced towards the body he liked the most. Taylor and Scott helped each other with theirs, Anne picked up hers with Gonzales, and Maribel approached hers. While she tried to pick up hers Glitterman was there to take it too. When he saw her expressionless face close to what he wanted he instantly hesitated and took a step back. He didn't want to interrupt her, or make her uncomfortable. He grasped his hands and gulped waiting for everyone to take what they wanted before picking his. "Maribel, you don't have to take that I have one for us." The violet-haired girl stated kindly, one arm of the body around her neck while holding up its torso with the help of Gonzales. "I guess I will be staying with her now…?" Pondered Maribel, still holding onto the body. She felt a stare locked on her that unnerved her. It made her blood boil when people would stare at her. No matter what reason they had for it, to her all of those reasons are absolutely invalid. "It is rude to stare, did you not know?" Her voice sounded impolite and simply annoyed. "Forgive me." That whisper was very familiar and lovely to hear. It was soft and kind although it trembled. He stared at his hands nervously and blinked rapidly. His skin was glowing light green. Maribel half-turned and saw Glitterman. In that moment she remembered what Anne had told her earlier in the room. She lowered her head shamefacedly and whispered the words: "You do not have to apologize. I do." Glitterman gave her a small pitiful smirk and approached her a bit. He was just about to brush his hand against her hair when he remembered why the painful argument happened earlier. With that memory in mind he quickly restrained his hand from getting one inch closer to her and let it fall back to his side. His prickly skin starting to shine a shade of deep ocean blue. "I forgive you, Maribel." She lifted her eyes and smiled apologetically before hearing Anne scream for her to get back to the room. She attentively looked at the place where the voice came from and walked towards it. Leaving Glitterman by himself. He watched as she left and waited until she completely disappeared from his sight to make his way to his room.

"Maribel, the guy could go here right?" Anne suggested playfully while holding the body straight. Maribel nodded, a cross expression painted on her small face. Anne dragged her hand down the body's arm and started to approach Maribel intriguingly. "Did something happen down there?" She asked, holding the young one's arm. Maribel shook her hand off her and asked: "Are you going to be staying with me here?" Anne nodded with a faint smile. "I will, and don't think it's for me to protect you. It's just that there's no other girls here for you to stay with. It just seemed better." She chuckled. Maribel was okay with her explanation. And besides, I don't think she'd like to stay with one of the Sebastian Brothers and even less Glitterman. But then again, she wouldn't mind him that much after all. "Did you get to apologize to Glitterman? He was really upset." Maribel snapped out of her thoughts and blinked quickly before answering. "Yes, I did. Right before you called me up here." The other smiled while accommodating the body again. Maribel sat on her bed carelessly and stared at the body. But specifically at that purple towel. "I must ask Anne what that is. She must know." She pondered, nearly murmuring them. "Anne…" She was cut off. "I'm sorry, but, I have to go to the garden. I'll see you later, okay? Stay here." Maribel furrowed her eyebrows. "Stay here? How long will you be gone?" She started to argue, lifting herself from the bed. "Not long. Now stay put!" Anne demanded while making her way out the door and closing it seconds after finishing her sentence. Maribel pouted while throwing herself back on the bed. Who knows how long she'll be out! "I knew she was going to protect me…" She thought.

Glitterman opened the door to his room and found Taylor sitting on the edge of his bed. He sprung from the bed with an excited smile and shouted his name. "Taylor, what are you doing here?" He quaked, closing the door behind him. "I want you to talk to me about what happened. I can still see you're a bit sad about it." The brunette stated, resting his hand on the older's shoulder with no regret. Glitterman squirmed a bit under his hand. He didn't want what happened to Maribel happen to him. He'll probably end up disliking him too. "Really? Is my skin showing?" He asked with his face transitioning to one full of worry, trying his best to not move and scratch Taylor. "No, your face says it." Glitterman's eyes softened. Was his skin really not showing this time? He looked at his hand and saw the light shimmering blue surfing all over it and sighed. "Did you just lie to me, Taylor?" Taylor slid his hand down his arm with a huff saying: "Not only does your skin show what you feel, Glitterman. Your face says it, too. Just like everyone else." The shining man widened his eyes and thought something that made his skin turn into a blinding gold. "I am ordinary."

"Now, tell me. What happened?" Taylor asked patting the bed for him to sit. He sat down and sighed. "Maribel doesn't want to be protected. But, you know Jonathan is very dangerous. The reason he's here puts us all in danger. And she doesn't understand that yet. Then she told me that why should I be protecting her if I can hurt her too. And that made me very sad. I really like her. I just want to protect her." He explained slowly and a bit agitatedly. Taylor lowered his head and slightly nodded. "She just doesn't know how scary he is yet. But she'll know soon." He reassured, patting his prickly shoulder. "Thank you, Taylor."

"No problem, Glitterman. That's what I'm here for." He chimed, raising from the bed and heading towards the door. Glitterman thought about asking him something before he left. But once he gained the confidence to ask it, Taylor was already out the door.

"Jonathan, I want you to tell me what you did to the kids." Mr. Hawkins sneered, threateningly glaring at him. Jonathan was slumped in the seat front of the desk. His hands together in a triangular formation near his hips and his eyes on Mr. Hawkins. "I saved them. Gonzales had a knife in his hands. They're just very ungrateful." He smirked, untangling his hands and resting them on the armrests. "What were you going to do with that knife?" The Chief muttered while leaning in on the desk. Getting clear and intense eye contact with the man. "I was going to take it back to the kitchen of course. I wouldn't do anything bad to Gonzales." A smirk still visible on his lips. He knew if Maribel wouldn't of interfered he wouldn't of hesitated to stab that in Gonzales' arm. "You're lying." Jonathan sprung to his feet. "Come on, Chief. I wouldn't lie to you. I've been here for three years." As he started to end his sentence he started leaning slowly onto the desk too. "You're gonna let me off the hook. You know I've done nothing wrong. I never do." He said slowly, his words slithering into the Chief's ears. He leaned back out and waited for the Chief to answer. "Well, why are you here then? Go keep having fun with the kids!" The old man chimed with his tender smile. Jonathan smirked evilly and thanked him, leaving out to his room.
