Central

"The Freezing Alchemist? He's here?" Roy Mustang questioned evenly while standing in front of the fuhrer's desk.

"Yes, he's managed to slip his way into Central; and you, mister Colonel Roy Mustang are in charge of capturing him." Bradley stood from behind his dark oak desk that showed a file that contained all of the information Roy Mustang would need to capture the Freezing Alchemist. Standing at attend, the Colonel saluted; his form emaciate.

"Consider it done Sir!" he exclaimed seriously looking straight ahead; in return Bradley smiled, he loved respectful soldiers.

"Good, I'm so glad to have you in Central, it's good to know that I have someone I can count on. I'm leaving this to you." The Colonel closed his eyes momentarily while he nodded his head.

"Yes Sir." Afterwards, he turned towards the door only to be stopped by Bradley having more to say.

"Oh, and one more thing, the boy here-" he paused seeming to choose his words. "-Use him however you like." For the first time in the entire meeting, Roy Mustang made eye contact with Fuhrer Bradley.

"Forgive me, but by 'boy' are you referring to-" Bradley quickly nodded his head and cut him off.

"I am! The Fullmetal Alchemist Edward Elric!"

.....

Standing outside the door I leaned one foot against the wall while I waited for Roy to exit his meeting with the Fuhrer. Inwardly I sighed. The man's been in there for forever. I stared at the door for a moment pondering if maybe he had gotten himself in to trouble or something; but quickly dismissed the idea; there would be more yelling coming from the room if he was in trouble. Crossing my arms and leaning my back fully onto the wall, I tilted my head back and started gently bumping it.

After what felt like years the door finally opened, revealing a very deep in thought Colonel. In fact he was so deep in thought, that he actually walked right past me and half way down the hall. I watched his back feeling both amused and a little terrified thinking of the various things that could be running through his mind. I glanced towards the door to the Fuhrer's office with a little frown before pushing myself from the wall and in the direction the Colonel had began walking; I could still see said raven haired man, he hadn't gotten too far down the hall to be swallowed up in the chaos of this place yet.

"I totally could've killed you, Roy!" I called down the hall watching as his head seemed to perk up at he sound of my voice; holding in a laugh I shook my head when he quickly spun around to face me surprised.

I've always told this guy that he becomes completely dead to the world when he's lost in thought; of course he never believed me, or he was too stubborn too admit defeat. Lazily shoving my hands in my pockets as I walked down towards him, I smirked at his annoyed face; the man hated when I snuck up on him when he was thinking deeply, he knew I was just proving my point.

"You know, sneaking up on a Colonel could get you killed one day." he muttered gruffly as I got into the final few steps to stand in front of him. I laughed loudly as I stood before him and held out my hand for him to shake. He was like a broken record, this particular threat was his favorite to give me at times like this.

"Come on Roy, lighten up; I wouldn't have startled you if you would've been paying attention." I shrugged my shoulders with my hands raised at my sides to try to appear innocent. But I knew the man didn't buy it one bit when he smirked at me and he also stuck his hand out to meet mine. I stared at it for a second before giggling and grasping it in my own gloved hand. We continued shaking hands for a few seconds until he ripped me forwards into a bear hug.

My body tensed at first before I hugged back. He always is so unpredictable, I knew before I even took his hand that he would do something like this, yet I took it anyways. Looking around the room I saw numerous wondering eyes and rolled my own; I wish he'd let us do our normal routine in his office instead of in front of numerous officers.

"It's good to see you Dani. When did you get back to Central?" He patted my back roughly before pulling back to look at my face. This man was always like this, it's more than just a welcoming hug, its payback for surprising him; he knew I hated being watched like a hawk. Though in this instance, it doesn't really matter, Roy is Roy after all.

"Today actually; I came to find you as soon as I got here, as promised." I smiled and took hold of his right arm as we started walking down the hall again. "I called your office, but they said you had an important meeting with the Fuhrer so I just headed back here. Figured I'd run into you sooner or later. I haven't seen Hughes in a minute either."

I wrapped both of my arms around his bicep as we continued walking and talking about anything he asked. As we walked many stared at us strangely, while others greeted me and welcomed me back. I suppose it would be strange to your commanding officer being so chummy with a random woman; state alchemist or not.

"So what were you thinking about so deeply that caused you to completely ignore my existence?" Glancing over I watched as his semi relaxed expression returned to his normal hard and serious look. I cringed at the face before giving a little sigh, normally I didn't get this serious face unless he was giving me a mission or orders; I very much preferred the easy-going cuddly looking Roy better.

"The Fuhrer has requested that I capture the Freezing Alchemist." I stopped us from walking another step and looked at him evenly.

This was a big deal. Why would the Fuhrer request that Roy handles something so tedious? The guy isn't that dangerous, but Roy shouldn't have to waste his time on something like this. He was just a man who got lost in the ways of war.

"He's here in Central?" Watching him nod his head I frowned confused. "Since when?" If the guy was here, I should've been notified to return to base faster than on my own leisure time. Normally I things hit me faster on the military grape vine.

Instead of answering my question, Roy simply closed his eyes making me glare. He was probably the reason I wasn't retrieved sooner. I honestly hate when he does this, he interferes with my missions if he believes something isn't worth my time.

"He wants me to use the boy." my glare melted away quickly and I pulled my arm away from his. So this is why the Fuhrer put Roy in charge of it, he wants to test he new pets. A frown came to my face as I thought over the possible outcome of bringing in the soft-hearted boy; hopefully it wasn't a kill order.

"He wants you to use Edward?" I questioned still stunned at Bradley's decision; when Roy nodded his head and closed his eyes looking stressed I finally understood his unease. As skilled as those brothers are, it was never an easy feet to simply throw them into battle.

Hopefully Ed complied with the Fuhrer's decision, though I truly doubt he will if it's anything other than an arrest; I'll most likely be sent out beside the brothers if its anything else. I sighed before pulling my cap from head with one hand and running my fingers through my hair with the other. At least this confirmed that my trip back to this place was about to get a bit more interesting.
