Baby Girl

       I was sound asleep when my phone began ringing repeatedly. My face stayed screwed up as I stretched for the phone. Neisha tossed on her side and I stole a quick glance at her. I kissed her cheek before grabbing the phone and heading into the hallway. The clock read 3:47 a.m. I drowsily rubbed my eyes and answered the phone without checking the caller id.

     On the other end of the line I heard heavy breathing And crying. I listened closely as the voice began speaking. "Trey.....I'm so sorry. I was trying not to wake you up for the past three hours but now the pain is freaking unbearable. My...." She paused for a breath and whimpered. ".....My water, it broke about four hours AGO and I didn't want to bother you guys but it hurts sooo much." Gabrielle cried into the phone. "I'll be there in a second Gabrielle, just, just breathe okay? Breathe." I hung up the phone quickly and ran in to my closet

          I slipped on a random T-shirt, and a basketball shorts. As I was trying to quickly tie my shoes I forgot Neisha was here next to me. "Babe...?" She sat up and stared at me weirdly. "Sorry for waking you baby. Gabrielle was in labor for hours and now she's about to push the baby out and she never called until now. Go head go sleep." I kissed Neisha's forehead and she shook her head. I stared at her questioningly. "I going to come support you."

     Neisha stood up and slipped on a big T-shirt and a random sweats. I helped her to the car quickly and in the knick of time I reached Gabrielle's house. She was spread out on the couch crying hard and trying hard not to push out the baby. We reached the hospital in a little amount of time. Neisha waited outside while they dressed me up and went inside to see my baby girl breathe her first breath. I smiled constantly bit when. I saw blood I stopped.

     Gabrielle's face was extremely pale. I looked from her to the blood between her legs and panicked. She can't lose my baby. I don't think I'll be able to hold up a third time. "We need to get her to Section B, the baby is in breach position!" The doctor shouted to the nurses who got to work. The nurse looked up at Gabi and sighed. "Gabrielle we need you to stop pishing. The baby has the cord wrapped around her neck. Gabrielle cried harder and I saw more blood. The Doctor's had no time to bring her to the next section and began to start the C section in the room. They knocked her out and the first thing I saw was them cutting into her stomach. So much blood gushed out and I was afraid my child would die. I cried as they pushed me out of the room.

       I walked up to Neisha sniffling and she immediately stood up and held me. "Trey what happened?" I sighed for a second and shook my head. "O don't think baby girl's going to make it." She immediately covered her mouth and pulled me in to the most comforting hug.     I rubbed her hand slowly trying to clear my head. I was so worried about my baby. I needed her to live.
