The woods were deadly tonight, dark enough to shield my twin and I from human eyes.
Diana was sitting down, leaning against the ghostly tree that was supporting her. “Please don’t do this, Syndra, we don’t have to, she’s only a child. She’s barely 10 years!”
I knelt down beside her and put my hand on her sympathetically, she was never happy about the killings. “Diana, she saw you and that makes her a threat to you, I’m only doing this for you, I always have. No human is allowed to see you, you know that.”
She began to tear up looking at the motionless body of the young girl on the dead grass – the best type of grass to bury the dead bodies. It had the right texture so that the bodies would simply rot away just like the grass around it silently without anyone noticing.
“There’re already 7 other dead bodies here! She’s the eighth!” Diana whimpered.
“Hush!” I silenced her. “She’ll be awake soon. Or maybe I should just wake her up.”
The little girl’s small body was now moving around and it shifted. Suddenly she jolted up from her lying down position into one where she was sitting up; the beautiful white dress she had been wearing with its adorned pearls and lace where in tatters and anyone could tell she was frightened.
After getting her bearings, she finally turned to look us. I could tell Diana wanted to go over to the girl and comfort her like every one of our previous killings, but she kept still and her eyes fixed on her nails, which were cracked and bleeding from nights before.
“W-Who are you?” the little girl whispered, her face was one of utter horror when she looked at me, but when she looked over at Diana, she paled to a colour that almost made her transparent. Diana was completely normal, but somehow people were just more scared of her. I was the one holding the silver scythe that was going to kill them and Diana was the one sitting down innocently and they’d be scared of her over me. Ha!
I sighed and stood up to walk over to the girl. Her braided hair was now tangled and knotted, despite the fact she was in ruins, the small girl was still so, so beautiful. Which only make her even more enjoyable to kill. I smiled at the thought, but hid it because Diana would surely disapprove.
“Please, don’t ask questions that are pointless. I’ll tell you anyway, though, I’m Syndra and over there is my twin sister, Diana,” I informed her and I watched her eyes widen.
“S-She’s your . . . sister?” the little girl asked, shivering even more. “I’m so sorry.”
I let out a heavy breath. “This could either be very quick and short or this could drag on and you’ll die in torture. I think we’d all prefer the easier method.”
She was crying and shaking her head in disbelief. Diana sat leaning up against the tree as always and I motioned my hand for her to come over, but she shook her head as always and did nothing.
“She’s so little,” Diana half pleaded, her dead eyes burning into me. “Please don’t do this.”
