The team was gathered, making plans to retrieve the stones from different points in time. You would do it tomorrow, and it wasn't going to be easy, that much you knew, and it scared you to no end, but there was nothing you wouldn't do to bring those you lost back to where they belonged.

You decided to call it a day, knowing making plans on cero sleep never turned out well. You grabbed your girlfriend's hand and tugged on it gently. "Nat, come on baby, we have to sleep."

"I'll be fine, go to bed if you want, I'll stay and work on this a bit longer." She pressed a kiss to your lips gently and went to grab her notes again.

"You've barely slept lately, I know you don't want to, but you have to, c'mon now." You said while wrapping your arms around her waist. "Besides, who will hog the covers if not you?"

She smiled and hit your arm playfully, staring at you with eyes full of love. "I suppose I'm the only one fit for that job."

When you got in bed, she laid next to you and placed her head on your shoulder. You stayed cuddled up like that for a while, neither of you able to fall asleep, too nervous about how the next day was going to go.

She grabbed your hand and kissed it. "What if something goes wrong tomorrow?"

You looked at her and saw her staring at the wall, she allowed herself to be vulnerable in front of very few people, and it always amazed you to be one of them, and even more so, at times like these, whenever she admitted- in one way or another- to be scared. "Hopefully nothing will, but if something does, then you call for back up. We're a team. No matter what." You kissed the top of her head.

"I know, but what if one of us gets hurt? Or something worse?"

"Nat, don't. It'll be fine. We just have to follow the plan. Nothing will happen."

"I hope you're right."
