Out of the Water

Whirlpool was coming to. Where am I? How long has it been? Am I in... He felt an aquatic animal brush against his wing. The SeaWing Prison! Why am I here?! Well, it's not like I can get out...

He heard a voice from above the surface. "Eels!" Whirlpool guessed a young female dragonet. "I enchant you not to shock..." she paused. "Not to shock any SeaWings!" He heard something plop down into the water and looked up. His vision was extremely blurry, but he could just make out the small shape of Anemone's head.

He saw the pale blue dragon's mouth moving, but he couldn't understand what she was saying. Her bioluminescent scales were flashing; she was presumably trying to speak to him in Aquatic, but no sentences could be formed with just facial scales. He shakily put an arm out, trying to evade the electric eels. Anemone was nodding her head. The voice was muffled, but the young dragonet raised her head out of the water and assured him it was safe. Whirlpool's vision was growing darker.

He swam the rest of the way up and surfaced. Anemone was a few tail-lengths away, a spear in her claws. She looked ready to attack. Whirlpool could barely see.

"What do you want?" Whirlpool asked in an accusing tone. "I am half-dead. I can barely see. I couldn't hurt you even if I wanted to."

"You lived..." Anemone said in a wistful tone. "I thought I-"

"Killed me?" Whirlpool interrupted. "Well, you almost did. Do you feel happy with yourself?"

Anemone sighed. "No. I tried to knock you out so you wouldn't be in the way of the rescue, but..."

"You knocked half my teeth out, so mission accomplished. Now can you fix my eyes before I go completely blind?"

A few moments passed before Anemone started. "Why should I help you? You tried to kill my sister."

"You are absolutely right. And I'm not done; you think I'd stop after getting shocked? Oh, no, Anemone; that just made me want revenge..."
