Curling up to Max as he cried, I hushed him with soft whispers and caring words. Amal was licking his hand whimpering to us. Max cried into my black shirt. I was a bit drowsy from waking up and hour later to see he was still crying. Dad already talked to him while I was curled up around Max.

"Hey, it's okay, where's the letter?" I asked a bit more awake. "I-." He sniffled. "I ripped it up and-and-and threw it out the window." He bawls our tears. "Now now, don't give me those crocodile tears, blow your nose." I said grabbing a tissue next to his night stand and held it up to his nose. He blew his nose free of the sniffles and weeped into my now soaked shirt.

Huffing I gently pushed him off and took off my shirt to show off my faint six pack. Throwing my wet shirt into a hamper, I got into some sweat pants. Laying back down I sighed and got comfortable on his small bed, Max cuddling up into my left side and Amal acting as a pillow for the both of us.

Petting his soft hair I looked into his chocolate brown eyes and sighed, "Max?" I asked timid. "Yeah?" He asked with puffy eyes looking into my hazel eyes. "I love you, you know that right?" I whispered leaning in to kiss his forehead. He blushed a dark pink and buried his head into my chest. I laughed whole heartedly while Amalgamous wagged his tail and barked silently. Soon, the power gave way.

Startled, Max rammed his head into my bottom jaw and had me bite my tongue as I too, sat up. I groaned in pain as he apologizes to me. "It's- alright." I said.

We got out of bed and walked downstairs, well, I was carrying Max in my arms, while Amal trailed behind me. "What happened?" I asked. "The power went out (Y/n), where's Max?" Mom asked. "I'm here." He whimpered into my jacket. I sighed and set him down on the couch that Lizzie was on with her older sisters watching a movie in their tablet, wrapped in a green and blue thick blanket to keep warm.

I smiled and called over my dog. The red canine jumped up onto the couch and sat between Max and Lizzie. I smiled and ruffled his fur and walked over to Mom, bumping into things on the way still drowsy.

I hugged her tightly and went to my father and also hugged him with all I had. "We need to board up the house." Omi said in German. I pulled away and nodded, running around the house and locking doors, windows, even cabinets. Locking the last room, I held the skeleton key in my hand, glanced at it and shoved it in my pocket and head downstairs.

I go to Max and look outside with him, there is a snowman outside. With a creepy grin and dark coal eyes, in the back I could hear mom arguing with dad. "I mean don't you thinks it's strange, that they can see dust specks on mars, and no one notices a giant blizzard hurdling towards us." She says. "Well, as soon as the powers back you can write and angry email to the national weather services." He said walking up to her in the kitchen.

"In the mean time, let's just try to stay calm." He finishes, "Mom, there's something weird outside." Max says. "I am calm, I would be calmer if I knew how we are gonna survive Christmas with 13 people and no hot water, no heat, and no electricity." She ignored Max.

Uncle Howie opens the fridge and comments. "Or food." He grumbles. "Well, there's plenty of leftovers Howard." Mom snaps at him. "Beer it is." He walks away with a bottle of beer with a smirk plastered on his face. "Phones dead too." Dad says. "Mom!" Max says. "What Max." Mom looks at him a little mad.

"There's a snowman in our yard." We both say, me not looking away from it. Mom looks at Max like a grew a second head and breathed fire out of his ears. "See?" I say pointing to it. Mom walks over and simply says, "That's great, (Y/n)." She turns away, "But who built it?" Asks Max. "I can barely see it from across the street but it doesn't look likes it's just us." Dad speaks out. "I can walk over and check with the Turner's". "The Turner's are in Hawaii." Mom said. "The Lambert's are in Florida and the Cartright's stopped talking to us after Max's noodle incident." She said gesturing to him.

"Max's noodle what?" Dad looked confused. "(Y/n) please go get Omi out of the fireplace before she burns the whole house down." Mom said to me. I sighed and walked over to Omi and gave her a rocking chair and a fire poker. My younger sister, Beverly, went out to mom and dad and asked to visit her boyfriend. Mom was against it while Dad was all for it.

Mom then walked over and stared to make a fit I didn't get Omi out of the fire and stopped. Omi and I grabbed a kettle of hot water and we talking in sync in german. Max translated, "they say hot chocolate makes everything better." He smiles cutely to put the sun to shame. I grinned at him and took two cups for him and I to drink. Mom simply rolls her eyes. I went to Amal and gave him a kiss on the nose, waiting for Beverly to come back.
