Chapter 4

Jungkook sits at his desk, tapping his pencil his cheek. He stares at Rose. He sighs, knowing she might never be his. His mind recalls the day at the beach where Rose and Namjoon were basically unseprebable. Rose turns around to meet the boys now intense look. She's a bit weirded out but waves. He cringes to himself but forces himself to wave. He swears in his mind, face a bright shade of red.

"Hey Jungkook." Rose catches up to the boy. He silently prayed that she won't bring up the staring incident. But as always, luck was not on his side.

"Why were you staring at me?" She asks, playing with her fingers her head down.

"I. Was, uh. It was one of those moments where I zoned out and happened to be looking in your direction." She nods.

"Oh okay." Lisa spots the two and they head her way.

"Yes! It's lunch." Lisa cheers, while lacing her fingers through Rose's and swinging their hands back and forth.

"I'll be right back." Jungkook leaves and decides to go to Lisa's twin brother, Bambam. Bambam is the only person who knows about Jungkook's crush on his sister's best friend.

"Bambam!" Jungkook heads up to the dance room, where Bambam is probably practicing with his friends.

"Hey, Kook." Bambam wipes the sweat off his face with his towel.

"Hey, Bambam. Hey, guys." Jungkook waves to the other dancers. The two walk through the halls.

"So, what's up?" Jungkook let's out a loud sigh.

"It's freaking Rose again." Bambam tsks, and gently pats Jungkook's head.

"What about her?" Bambam sits in front of his friend and passes his snacks.

"Where did the food come from?" Bambam doesn't answer, only winks.

"First, Rose caught me staring at her."

"Oh." Bambam shakes his head.

"Then your sister holds her hand right in front of me! I know Lisa doesn't mean it but it's so freaking frustrating." Jungkook ruffles his hair. Bambam closes his eyes and thinks.

"Are you ever going to confess?"

"Ha, me? No." Jungkook hates his cowardness. Bambam chuckles and gives him a quick hug and goes back to the dance room. It feels good to let your feelings out. Jungkook thinks. He prepares himself to see his crush.

"Namjoon!" Rose cries, laughing. They battle with their chopsticks. Rose's admirers look in misery. Namjoon has been pretty lucky. Rose once excuses herself to take her pills.

"You ungrateful little brat!" Her older brother throws her to the floor. Her face and the cold floor collide, and she knows that's going to leave a nasty bruise. She stumbles to get up only to be faced with her brother's fist. "Useless. YOU'RE JUST A WASTE OF SPACE!" Rose shakes in fear as he corners her. "Please, stop." He kicks her and she feels all the energy leave her helpless body. He locks in her room and leaves. She manages to climb out the window and finds her brother leave the house and he thankfully never came back. Rose's parents still don't know and she hopes to keep it that way.

"Maybe I am just a waste of space." She looks at her caked face and takes the pills before leaving the bathroom.

"Rose unnie!" Rose turns around to be faced with Yeewon. Rose tightly hugs Yeewon is her cousin and she sometimes visits during lunch.

"I missed you, my little bub." Rose pecks her cousin's cheeks and holds her hands. She leads the excited Yeewon to her lunch tables.

"YEEWON!" They all shower her with food, hugs, and compliments.

"Well, we're going to leave. Jisoo unnie see you at Chem." The two go to sushi. 

"I wish I had an awesome cousin like Rose does." Jennie comments. 

"Yeah, I agree." BTS and BLACKPINK glare at the boy who was eavesdropping their conversation.

"Yeah, Mark!" Namjoon gently hits his arm. Mark walks away.

"I LOVE YOU ROSE!" He screams before snickering. Jungkook balls his fists under the table.

"Bye, sweetie!" Rose sadly waves bye to her cousin and heads back to school.

"Mom?" Rose calls out, seeing her mom's favorite briefcase. She hears screaming and something crash. She follows the noise knowing whatever is happening is not good.

"YOU FREAKING LIAR!" Her mom insults her dad, her usually perfect hair and makeup a mess. She runs and stands by her mom.

"What happened?" Her mom, with wild eyes, faces her terrified daughter.

"Your father cheated on me." Rose gasps and tears flow down her face unstoppable. Rose's dad tries to comfort the girl but she smacks his hand away.

"Your disgusting." Her mother yells. Her dad throws a vase and curses at the two before leaving.

"Sorry honey. I have to go." Her mom gives the shocked girl a tight hug and she exits the room.

"Wow." Rose stands there stunned. She hears the door close and Rose falls onto her knees. Rose runs out of the room to her bathroom. She opens a hidden cabinet and takes out her secret pill bottles. Ring Ring! Just in time.
