~FLEUR~

After two blissful days of not having to worry about a thing; exploring Regent's Park in what seemed to be the last of the summer sunshine, eating Halo Top on the sofa with Sophie and watching trash TV, today was the day. Today she finally began a career in writing.

"Okay. Little bit of advice for you - you are not starting your new job wearing that!" Sophie eyed her outfit choice with disapproval.

"Why not? It's a music magazine, not Vogue!" Fleur couldn't really understand, looking down at her faded denim jeans.

"You're killing me. Really. Come here!" She dragged Fleur by the arm into her bedroom stared at her wardrobe for thirty seconds before pulling out a sophisticated blouse and blazer ensemble made casual by some cropped black jeans and white pumps. "Put this on. Oh and you'll need my coat too, it's chilly in the mornings."

When Fleur had applied a bit of makeup and brushed her hair, that often relaxed in waves, she looked in the mirror. She didn't even recognise herself. It's amazing what nice clothes can do, she thought to herself, for once happy with her appearance.

"I actually feel more confident in this.. Thanks Soph!" She really was so grateful, and Sophie beamed over at her from the sofa, clearly pleased with her work.

"Girl you look stunning! Now go and make a kick-ass impression.. You can thank me later for bringing some style to LIVEwire!" She jokingly shooed Fleur out of the door.

Fleur's pulse quickened as she got closer with every step. What if everyone hated her? What if she really didn't know anything about music at all and they fired her on her first day? Maybe she should have skipped breakfast, she could feel the toast unsettling in her stomach. As she turned a corner, she saw the black and neon sign, "LIVEwire".

She crossed the road and on the cobbled pavement she stopped for a moment, taking it all in.

After a couple of deep breaths she walked into the main reception area. The whole building was full of various different offices, the magazine only being one of them and of course, it was on the top floor. Unlike the apartment though, this building had a lift. She gave her name at the front desk, explaining she hadn't been given her I.D. badge yet, so a concierge of some kind took her to the office themselves.

Upon entering the office, Fleur looked around, eyeing up the industrial chic of the place. They had definitely tried to make it look edgy. There were succulents and cactus scattered everywhere, open pipework on the ceiling and some of the furniture just looked like it had been half-built; although she could see that was the look they were trying to go for.
