She's never been outside her room. She's never talked to other people her own age.

I mean, can you say that your thirteen-year-old is a genetically altered hybrid who can murder you without hesitation?

No, you can't.

Besides, she is used to her room. She's been there ever since she was created.

With eight other children her age lined up in front and behind her, they made their way up from under the cells.

A bright light hits them, making all their pupils downsize.

"Pupillary response normal," A lady's voice announces.

"All right. Dax! Dim the lights!"

On command, the bright lights dim down to where the children can see the man in front them.

In mid-thirties, hair thinning and stomach bloating, the scientist stands in a standard white lab coat while he looks over the experiments.

"Welcome, experiments. Today... is a special day. Three very important men have come to investigate and essentially evaluate you. Some of you have spent fifteen years here while some of you have spent less. We still expect you to behave like its a normal day here at the lab."

"We're going to have you line up against the wall when the men arrive. Age is in order. Eldest to youngest." The lady from before says.

"Good afternoon. Andreas, Christian, Mikhail."

Andreas sighs at the man's attempt to talk normally.

"Good afternoon, Doctor Oliver. Are the experiments ready?"

"Yes sir, they are. Lined up on the wall, eldest to youngest."

Christian interrupts, "Good. Just to remind you, Doctor Oliver. This is not a personal visit. We are simply here to evaluate your experiments."

"Why, dear cousin. You mustn't be so harsh on the man. He's a scientist taking care nine experiments who are ruthless. He'd be nervous."

"Yes, but also keep in mind, dear cousin," mocking Mikhail's tone, "these experiments are our top priority, not the scientists."

The men follow Doctor Oliver down a series of hallways until they finally reach the one with the experiments.

Christian strides over to them, examining each one carefully. Their auras hit him like tidal waves but each one similar to each other.

Except one.

His deep brown gaze stops on her.

The one with blue eyes.

"Andreas, Mikhail." The two men step in unison to their younger cousin when they meet a pair of luminescent blue eyes staring at them.

She felt him.

The thoughts being pushed carelessly around her mind. Distant memories here in the institute distorting her vision while he trifles through them.

Then she felt it.

He unlocks the one place she thought no one could ever unlock.

Her emotions.

She felt everything at once.

Pain, sadness, happiness, jealously, anger, pity, insecure, superior.

It feels like her head is exploding.

"STOP!!" she yells out, making the windows around them shatter. Everyone ducks, except her. As soon as his gaze left hers, she quickly shoved her emotions back in the theoretical box of her mind.

"Don't... go through my head," she growls angrily.

The three men glance up at Doctor Oliver before Andreas announces, "Doc, we're taking this one home."
