Chapter One: Close One

"YOU FUCKING BITCH! What do you think your doing!!" My dad screamed as I wanted to run upstairs but before I could he grabbed me by the hair and pulled me down I hit my head on the corner of this cabinet we have, I started crying in pain and in fear he leaned down towards me and started shouting in my face how worthless I am, he hit me twice in the stomach and then stood up and kicked me he then walked to the kitchen to grab a bear, and then he walked out slamming the door. I tried to get up but everything was blurry and every move I took sent shooting pains down my whole body.

After 10 minutes of just laying there in pain I slowly stood up and walked up the stairs towards the bathroom, I looked in the mirror and was ashamed of what I saw my whole face was covered in blood and tears, I slowly turn the shower on to clean my self up.

As I was in the shower I was thinking of what I've done to him for him to treat me like this.

And that's how I spent a the rest of my summer, getting beat up and hurt. The only coping method I had was cutting cause I felt like maybe one day if I'm lucky I'll cut deep enough to bleed to death.

It was the end of the summer, it was boring I have no friends and my fathers abusive.

*Alarm going off*

I turned the alarm off so it doesn't wake my father, I laid in bed for a while until it was 6:45am I had work at 7:10am so I got dressed and brushed my teeth I grabbed my bag and headed out chucking ear phones in and blasting 'Sarcasm by Get Scared' I played it on repeat.

I work in Costa, I like it there they also pay quite well £7.50 to £8.50 per hour and for me, just me that was enough.

I walked into Costa and took my ear phones out. I was greeted by my boss 'Lucas' he's from Spain 🇪🇸

"Buenos días my favourite worker" he said walking up to me with a huge smile.

"Buenos días Lucas" I said smiling back.

"On time as always, what have I done to have someone like you work here" He said

We smiled and I went and chucked my apron on, there weren't many people here today so I kinda felt a little relieved because I had a rough Summer.

I was in deep thought not realising someone standing right in front of me.

"señorita! Hello there's someone waiting" I heard Lucas shouting and snapped out of my thoughts

"Oh,umm sorry ,what may I get you?"I asked kinda embarrassed

"It's fine, can I have a large Classic Americano" She said

"Coming right up" I turned around starting to make the coffee.

"You go to my collage don't you?" The girl asked I turned around to look at her, I was shook at who stood in-front of me it was Courtney, Courtney Ivy the collages bad boy.

"Er, Yea I think so" I stuttered a bit turning back around to finish of the Americano, when I finished I gave it to her "£2.40 please" she gave me the money but before she left I shouted "Wait" she turned around confused "Here take the cupcake".

"No it's fine" she said

"Come on it's on me for keeping you waiting" I said she smiled and took the Cupcake walking away.

I still had 10 minutes left of my shift so I dazed of again.

Finally 8:15am had struck and it was time for me to leave for college. I waved goodbye to Lucas and started walking down to College.

On my way to college once again I put my ear phones in and blasted 'Sarcasm by Get Scared'

As I walked into College it was still quite quiet as it's the first day back from Summer, I walk down the hall way towards my locker to grab my books and as I still had a good 10 minutes I went to the library.

I was reading through my notes for English, and jumped outta my skin as the bell rang.

I packed my things and rushed to English, as I looked around I saw a seat at the back so I quickly rushed to it before anyone sat there.

The day went down boring but luckily quite quickly. The end of the day hit and everyone was rushing pass me, I wasn't really doing anything today.

I was outside my house now and I heard my father, shivers went down my spine as I turned the handle.

"WHERE THE FUCK HAVE YOU BEEN!" My father greeted me.

"Collage" I answered regretting it immediately.

Before I knew it I had a slap across my face which sent me flying backwards. He kneeled down and pinched me multiple times in my face shouting "How dare you speak back to me!!" And "You're a worthless piece of shit, I should of killed you and not you fucked up mother!!"

I was crying from the physical and emotional pain he was putting me through. He stood up and laughed then walked out slamming the door making the picture frame of me and my mam fall smashing into pieces.

I slowly grabbed onto the wall to pick myself up and walk up the stairs. I walked into the bathroom to see my eye being bruised, I ran out of my concealer.

I got dressed and chucked my hoodie on so no one saw my eye.

I was inside and was heading for the makeup section I was looking down and didn't see someone standing right in front of me so I walked into them.

I felt them about to rage but before they could react I apologise "I'm sorry,I didn't..."

They cut me off saying "it's fine but next time try to look where you are going"

"Er I..I will, sorry" I stuttered realising who it was that was talking to me, I was about to walk away but stopped as I heard them speak

"Wait" Courtney said "you're the girl  from costa this morning"

"Er, Yea" I said

"Is everything alright, you keep looking at the floor" she asked surprising me

Before I could answer I felt her fingers go under my chin to lift my head up, when she saw my black eye I could see she got worried.

"Sorry I gotta go" I said before she asked me anything about it, I quickly ran to the concealer serving and picked up my shade and ran towards the cashier, I payed and rushed out.

I was home now and saw my father sleeping on the couch I decided not to eat anything so I don't wake him up.

I walked up stairs being weary of where I stand, I walked to my bed and got dressed for bed I thought to myself that was a 'close one'.

I fell asleep quite quickly I was exhausted.
