A/n: I feel like this part is a bit pointless to be honest but it's just some fluff basically, more stuff will happen in part 6! As some of you may had read, I have been super busy with classwork recently and if I told you all the things I was doing at my University, you would think I'm mad (side note: if any of you do want to ask, I would totally be up for talking 😊) anyway, writing does tend to keep me sane so I'm going to try and keep updating my stories more often.
Word count: 2,541
Warnings: None.A stunned silence fell over the both of you. The only thing to break it was the crackle of the fire.
You stood up. You could feel your heart beating twice as hard out of panic, your brain working on overload as it thought of what to do next and then you realised that it was simple, a simple answer that would end your worrying.
"Yes." It was barely above a whisper, but he heard it.
You stared at George for a while before a large, beaming smile formed on his face and then he was rushing towards you. He picked you up and spun you whilst kissing your face.
"George!" You laughed through the tears of pure happiness that were beginning to fall. He put you down with an apology and then his hands drifted from your waist to your still, rather flat stomach. His eyes kept their focus there until they dramatically shot up and his eyebrows furrowed inwards, he looked sad.
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"To be honest, I was scared." You avoided his warm brown eyes as they stared at you. George just became more confused.
"Why, love?"
You shrugged. "I don't know. I mean what if you didn't-." Your breath caught at the mere thought of your next words. Before you could get to caught up in your own head, George stopped you.
"You couldn't have thought I would think such a thing?" George's voice was gentle, and you knew he was right. Now that you had said it, it seemed a silly thing to worry about just like the others had told you so. You stuttered a bit before George's finger lifted your chin, so your eyes would finally re-meet his. He wore the softest smile and there was still such happiness there. "I'm happy." He reassured you. "I get to marry and have a baby with you already? That's pretty awesome."
You giggled briefly before George captured your lips in a tender kiss. His hand came to rest on your jaw and everything felt right again. Just like it had when he had proposed expect this time there was no looming war to stop you from being happy. Your arms circled around his neck, pulling him in closer as the kiss picked up in passion.
Just as you were expecting the kiss to lead further, George pulled away. You pouted, and he laughed before biting his lip in what looked like, confusion. "How come Fred knew?"
"Oh, he overheard me and your Mum speaking."
"Wait, Mum knew too?! Am I the last one to find out?!" George looked more annoyed at this point.
"No! It was just they figured it out." You shrugged. George seemed to visibly deflate, his expression changing into an even more saddened one.
"I must be pretty stupid then." He laughed but there was a sense of insecurity behind his words. You shook your head and took his hands into your own.
"George no! I didn't even know I was until Madam Pomfrey told me." You squeezed his hands and he seemed to perk up at the contact. He looked back at you and smiled weakly. There was a moments silence as he thought to himself and then his smile got steadily brighter.
"So, a baby, huh?" You laughed and reached up to kiss his cheek, he relaxed into your touch. You nodded.
"Yeah. How about we go upstairs and get some rest because I am exhausted." George nodded at your suggestion, kissing you once more before leading you up the stairs by your hand.
