The sound of pots and pans shuffling around woke me up. I checked my phone, realizing that rehearsals started in about two hours. Perfect! The clothes I had set out when I unpacked now lay on the dresser. I quickly threw them on. When I walked out of my room, Liam was in the kitchen attempting to make breakfast. The way his face screwed up when he wasn't sure what he was doing made it clear that he in fact did not know what he was doing. I laughed and went to help him.
"Morning Liam," I picked out the eggshells that fell into the bowl.
"Sophia! I didn't know you were up," he blushed, looking very embarrassed.
"Let's fix this mess before Dani wakes up," I narrated everything I did so he could get the basic gist of cooking. At one point he left to get a notebook to take notes. Now that folks, is devotion. The delicious looking breakfast now laying in front of me made my stomach growl. Liam went around the table, centering plates, folding napkins, and wiping down the table again and again. The fact that we went through all the trouble made me... did you guess it? Jealous. As Hell.
"How did you learn how to cook?" Liam asked absentmindedly.
"My roommate in college was getting her masters in cooking. I think I picked up a few important information on the way," I smiled.
"Wow, I wish I was that lucky," he frowned.
"Who did you have as a roommate?" I asked.
"I didn't," he answered, waving away the subject. Wait, he didn't go to college?
"So you know what I do Liam, but can you tell me what you do? I need to know how you're going to support Danielle," I raised an eyebrow, trying to get some information out. He stopped walking and gulped, "Oh come on, I'm not that intimidating!" I laughed.
"Well, I'm actually in a band," he answered.
"A band? Do you know how many bands actually make it, Liam? I'm sorry, but that's just stupid. Danielle deserves all the money in the world," he looked shocked, I mean I'm giving him a reality check, "I truly approve of you two though," I put my hand on his shoulder, smiling. "Maybe you should give that band thing a rethink okay?" suddenly I had a flashback of when I told my mom what I wanted to go to school for.
"Musical theatre? Sophia, do you know the percentages of kids who actually make it? You need to think about your future and supporting a family, not running around chasing a dream. Because that's all it will be: a dream. Please Sophia, just rethink it, okay?" I snapped out of it when Danielle came out of her room.
"Morning, what all this?" she yawned, scratching her wild curls
"Liam made it," I nudged him. He gave me wide eyes.
"No actually--" he started.
"Really, he even gave me some pointers," I smiled.
"Aw babe," she grinned and gave him a hug. He mouthed a thank you. I grabbed my protein shake and went into my room, leaving the lovebirds alone. We had another hour until rehearsals so I just popped in some music and did my daily push ups, sit ups, pulls up, and all the other up's. The only thing on my iPod was just every musical known to man. The show tunes calmed me down and pumped me up. I had my music so loud, I didn't even realize when Liam had walked in. I was getting up to start my second set when I noticed him. I took out the ear buds.
"What's up?" I asked, stretching my calves.
"Danielle says she's ready to go if you are," he replied.
"Okay," I'll be out there in five minutes. He nodded and left. I took a quick shower and put on some less sweaty clothes. Dani and I decided to walk to the studio.
