Dear stranger,

I laughed today.

I was at the park, sitting on a bench when a little boy came over and sat next to me.

People don't usual like to acknowledge my existence , let alone sit with me, it was quite shocking.

The boy seemed sad.

I asked him his name, and boy am I glad that I did.

'My name is Charlie and I'm in no shape to be interrogated'

Now that made me laugh.

when you have a little kid trying to pronounce the word 'interrogated' you laugh.

And it was one of those real laughs, the ones where you can feel the muscles in your stomach clench.

I haven't laughed like that in a long time.

Charlie and I got talking and turns out he lost his mother and father in a car accident.

He's currently been put into the foster system , since he has no other family.

No wonder he looked lonely and lost.

I bought him an ice cream and walked him back to his foster house.

The smile on his face reached all the way up to his ears.

Sometimes it's nice to be nice.

Sometimes we need to put others ahead of us , right?

Love always ,

Stranger.
