The fall of a storm

Jade woke to the feeling of the sun against her fur. The night had been rough for her a recurring nightmare ran through her brain constantly. Reluctantly she rose to her paws padded to the edge of the ravine then gazed at the valley below. Underneath her she could see a densely populated village full of dens and stands where merchants and store owners sold items for guilds. After she had watched the village for a good minute Jade padded back to her companion who was sleeping in the shade.

"wake up Lana its about time we head to the village" urged Jade. Lana looked up and at Jade then shook the sleep from her eyes

"shouldn't we hunt first I'm hungry" grumbled lana. Jade nuzzled lana to her feet

"they sell rabbits at the the village c'mon" said jade before she remembered their current shortage on guilds. Lana sighed as she followed after Jade to the worn dirt path that lead down from the forest to the village in the valley. As Jade and Lana followed the path Jade caught whiff of a familiar scent making her stop dead in her tracks. After Jade stopped she began sniffing franticly identifying who the owner of the scent was, when they had been here, and how many had passed. Jade grew a worried expression as she found that the scent belonged to the devious hunters that had been tracking her the whole time she was revisiting her home town and even worse the scent was drifting showing her that the hunters were on their way. Hastily Jade began looking for a hiding place for Lana. Finding a bush thick enough to hide Lana in Jade shoved her in it then stood in the middle of the path ready to defend herself and Lana. As the hunters approached Jade could hear their rasp, scrapy voices and heavy pawsteps

"how are we supposed to know what this child of shadow looks like the only thing we know is he scent of her magic" growled one of the hunters. another voice sounded it was stronger and younger than the others

"shut up about that grim trash do you honestly believe the grim magis actually have so much power as to be called the children of their foolish leader thats rediculous" snarled the younger one

"but general Tito wasn't your father, Tear, killed by the one who bears the powers and wasn't she the one who gave you that scar down your flank" replied the troops. tito Gave an angry huff and opened his mouth to speak when one of the troops called out.

"general Tito look out theres a she-wolf in the middle of the path" before he could react Jade leapt towards tito before pinning him to the ground

"long time no see tito i've been waiting for the chance to finish what i started" growled Jade. frantically the troops splayed themselves around aid and Tito

"troops search for any companions hidden in the brush" coughed Tito bitterly. Jade pressed her paw down on titos throat making him cough more. The rage in her rose like a hungry fire as she heard the troops grab lana.

"Hurt her and I'll rip his throat out" electricity started surging around her fangs as her rage grew

"If I were you I would free the general or your little friend will get it" growled one of the troops. Jade gave an annoyed snort and got off of tito gritting her teeth at the sight of him smiling. As the troops began to help tito up lana pelted to jade her fur was on end and she was quivering. When lana reached jade she grabbed lana her nape and flung her down the path making her run faster from the throw as she headed towards the village. Jade charged after lana the wind surged through her fur as she heard the hunters voices die away and lanas figure against the horizon the distance between them quickly shrinking letting jade slow her pace to a gallop. Finally lana and jade made it to the edge of the village and sat down in a patch of grass

"I'm sorry for throwing you down the path like that but I was in a rush" panted jade lana flicked her tail in reply her breaths to heavy for words. Jade stood up and signaled lana to follow. As they walked jade remembered something she wanted to tell lana when they were on the path before the hunters came. "Lana I have to tell. You somthing" stated jade lana yawned
