I woke up to the sound of tiny snores coming from my left. I peers over and there was Thomas sitting beside me sleeping heavily. I knew that since he stayed up so late last night, at least for a four year old, he would be sleeping in today. I picked him up as gently as I could and carried him to his room. It was blue and had a small bed with spaceships all over it in the corner. There was a TV with different types of games attached to it. He had a little wooden wardrobe and in the opposite corner of his room, there was a big blue mat with cupboards surrounding it filled with toys of all sorts. He had a big window at the back and power ranger posters on either side of it. Ya, he was obsessed.
I laid tommy down on the bed and left the room. I padded downstairs quietly to clean up the mess from yesterday. Yes, be do have a maid but I think it just shows respect if we at least do something helpful. I went into the kitchen and decided to make some breakfast. You seem I am the world's worst chef, but I try anyways. I pulled out the pancake batter and got to it.
~15 minutes later~
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
"SHUT UP! SHUT UP! SHUT UP! SHUT UP! SHUT UP! SHUT UP! SHUT UP! SHUT UP!" I was currently trying to get the smoke out of the kitchen by waving the towel around like it was a frickin' rain dance. UUUUUGH. there is only one way to solve this. I took out our spatula and beat the thing until it stopped ringing. There. Job well done.
I sighed in relief and turned around to see that the oven was on fire! OH MY GOD. In that moment, all I could think about was Mom and Dad and how they died in a fire. I heard heavy footsteps coming toward me and someone shouting something at me but I couldn't comprehend what they were saying.
Slowly, little black dots began to blur my vision until it was completely dark and I fell into a pair of muscular arms.

I opened my eyes to find myself in bedroom. How the fuck did I get here? It took me a few seconds but soon everything came rushing back into my head. I had lit the kitchen on fire. Maybe I should stick to eating food and not making it...
"Hey kiddo how are you doin'?" I looked up to see Jason come into my room and sit down beside me on the bed.
"I'm okay. Look Jase...I'm really sorry for what happened. I just...All I could think of was..." and that is when I broke down in little sobs.
"Hey...shhhhh. It's okay. It wasn't your fault. We all make mistakes. While you were out we already had a new oven installed. It's okay," My sobs instantly stopped.
"You already installed a new oven?" I sniffled, "How long was I out for?"
He looked at me tyring to see what my reaction would be, "5 hours and..." he looked down at his phone, "47 minutes."
My eyes widened. "THAT'S LIKE 6 FREAKING HOURS I HAVE TO GO TO WALLMART WITH THOMAS AND GET SCHOOL SUPPLIES!!!" I literally jumped ou of the bed and started getiing ready.
Jason got up and walked to my door. "I'll get Tom ready for you. He'll be in your car waiting.'
"Thanks Jase!" I yelled as he walked out.
I pulled on some regular blue jeans and a plain white V-neck with some black vans and a black beanie to cover my hair. I applied some mascara and grabbed my purse containing my wallet and some other random shit that I didn't actually use and just left in there to make the bag feel useful. Don't lie. I know you do that too.
I grabbed my car keys and walked outside to my baby. As Jason said, Thomas was already waiting in the car for me.
3 hours later we were FINALLY home. Thomas needed EVERYTHING he picked to be perfect. Oh well, he's too cute to argue with. I quickly changed into my pajamas and jumped into bed. Just as I was about to fall aseep there was a little knock on my door. I hauled ass out of bed to see my little brother standing at the door with a sad expression on his face. I knew exactly what this was about. He was thinking about Mom and Dad.
