Something was definitely off about Jay.

It was the middle of the day, and Jay seemed to be ignoring Cole as much as he could. He refused to meet his eyes. Truthfully, it hurt Cole. After all, they always were talking and joking around. Hell, Cole felt happy whenever Jay's soft blue eyes met his. Coupled along with his small, freckled cheeks, Cole melted whenever he saw him. Perhaps that was why he was falling so hard for him.

Cole's sympathy won as he approached Jay, who was just walking inside the Bounty. "Hey, Jaybird, what's wrong? You've been off all day today." Cole asked worriedly. Jay visibly tensed, not turning around.

"Nothing. Nothing's wrong," He responded quickly. Was he walking faster? Cole followed him quickly as he tried to lock himself in their shared bedroom. Cole reached the door before Jay could close it all the way, both of them fighting to open or close the door.

"Jay, something is obviously wrong. Don't lie to me." After another moment of struggling, Blue gave up with a sigh, allowing Black to enter the room. Jay stood awkwardly in the middle of the bedroom. "Now, tell me." Finally giving in, Jay sighed.

"I... I had a really weird dream. About you," He admitted. Cole raised an eyebrow.

"Huh? Me?" Jay nodded. Was the boy blushing? "Well, what was it about?"

"Ah... It was... odd."

"Well, c'mere and tell me!" Cole smiled, moving and sitting on his bed as he smiled. He patted the empty space next to him, which Jay moved to slowly.

"I'm not sure, you'll probably hate me for it," Jay sighed. How else would Cole react to his bizarre dream? How could he simply tell Cole Oh hey, I had a dream that you and me made out for the sake of some silly training, and you wanted to do it again.

"What was that?"

Jay perked up, realizing that he must have mumbled what he was thinking. "Sorry, sorry, it's fine. I'll just go," Jay said, starting to stand. Before he could, Cole grabbed his hand.

"Hey! Hey, it's fine. I would never hate ya, bluebell." Cole smiled obliviously. Jay looked at him, hesitant. All he could focus on was the warmth of the Earth Ninja's hand, and how nicely it fit into his. How soft it-

"Helloooo! Earth to Jay?" Cole said loudly, waving his free hand in front of Jay's face.

"O-Oh! Sorry," Jay apologized quickly, sitting back down. Cole let go of his hand.

"C'mon, tell me. I'm all ears. You seem pretty bothered by it, too," He pointed out, giving him a worried look. Finally caving, Jay sighed.

"Well... I was in here, and someone came in and explained that Wu had put us through training. It was locking us in a room for a day with someone else. And then they said one thing led to another, and we... uh... Started making out," He explained quickly. Cole seemed intrigued.

"Really? What happened next?" He asked, turning more to face Jay.

"He... Asked to do it again. Then I woke up." Jay was definitely blushing by this point. Cole gave him a questioning look.

"He?"

"H-He? Uh, w-well, I, did I say that?" Jay stammered, embarrassed. How had he allowed himself to slip up like that? Cole nodded.

"... Do you swing that way?"

"W-Well! I better get going, sights to see, cities to save, haha!" Jay smiled, shooting up as he made his way awkwardly to the door. Cole had gathered enough to safely confirm that Jay at least saw interest in both genders, or perhaps just men.

"Well, who was it at least?" Cole asked, standing as he made his way quickly over to Jay. He had said the dream was about him earlier. Did that mean...?

"Don't worry about it! It was just a silly dream," Jay smiled, feeling himself about to explode from the embarrassment. Before he could reach the doorknob, Cole grabbed his shoulders, turning him around and pinning him against the closed door. To which, Jay blushed madly.

"... It was me, wasn't it?"

Jay focused on the space between them. Their faces were at least a foot apart from each other. It was space, sure, but it felt closer than it really was.

He could see Cole's chest rising and falling as he breathed. He could feel the warmth of their bodies mixing. It was all so enticing. He wanted Cole's hands to stay on his shoulders, to keep the warmth there. He loved when their bodies collided by accident in battle. He'd give anything to feel his warmth all the time. It was-

"Jay. I'm right, aren't I?"

Jay looked up at Cole, unsure of what to say. Slowly, he nodded.

"I'm... I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said anything," Jay smiled, although his eyes threatened to release the tears that were forming. Cole would definitely hate him now. Blue started to struggle against Black's grip, to which the other reacted. He pulled Jay into a hug, startling the shorter ninja.

"Don't be sorry, you dork," Cole slowly started guiding their bodies back to the bed as he felt Jay's grip tighten. He seemed so upset. All Cole wanted to do was help him. Let him know that his feelings weren't single sided.

Jay, on the other hand, was savoring the warmth. The tears were dangerously close to spilling as he balled the other's Gi in his hands. Just this was enough comfort to last a lifetime. He felt so safe.

Cole managed to reach the bed, sitting down blindly and laying down. Instinctively, Jay curled up, still holding on to Cole. He was afraid he would start crying if he looked up at the other. Cole held Jay close to him. It felt odd, knowing there was a very good chance they felt the same way about each other. Both of them were too scared to admit it.

"You... Don't need to be ashamed about it. You aren't alone," Cole reassured, realizing how vulnerable Blue was. Strangely, he liked comforting him. It was nice to be able to hold someone.

"What... Do you mean?" A small, muffled voice asked.

"I mean... I mean you aren't the only one that... feels that way," Cole said slowly. Jay's head lifted to look up at the other. "You mean...?" Cole nodded. Jay's eyes widened, and he hugged Cole tighter. "Oh my god, Cole! I was so scared, are you being serious? You're not pretending, right? Please say you're not
pretending!" Cole smiled sadly, ruffling Blue's unkempt curly hair. "I'm not, bud."

Jay smiled, then doing something that surprised both of them.

He put his hands on Cole's shoulders, pulling him down as he crashed his lips against Black's. Cole's eyes widened for a moment, surprised at the sudden gesture. But soon, he relaxed, rubbing Jay's back as they kissed. He couldn't believe this. That Jay felt the same.

Soon, Jay broke the kiss, looking up at Cole with a deeply flushed face.

"Oh god, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to," Cole hushed the other with a smile.

"It's okay, bluebell. I love you too."
