Jacob's POV
I sat dripping wet on Chief Swan's doorstep. I knew that I was 3 days early delivering the truck that Chief Swan had bought off my dad but I needed a refresher course in Bella Swan, my romantic interest and the chief's daughter. "Hey chief swan" I said as I sauntered into the two bedroom house that still had her old room.
"Hey Jake, here for the game?" asked Charlie.
" Not today Chief Swan" I answered as politely as I could even though I did kind of want to watch it. My favorite team, the San Francisco Giants were playing. " So Bella's coming back?" I added quickly trying to find out as much as I could about it.
" Looks like it Jake, I can't understand why though. I can tell she's never been comfortable here" Charlie answered.
" Aww Charlie you're not that bad" I joked.
" You're alright yourself Jake" said Charlie with a chuckle.
" Oh almost forgot I got that truck fixed up for you if you want it now it's in the driveway" I said as I put my hand behind my neck.
" Did Billy drive up here?" asked Charlie suspiciously.
" We get permits early on the rez" I replied with a smile.
"Sure you do" says Charlie as he rolls his eyes.
After awhile Charlie convinces me to stay for the rest of the game.
The next week Bella arrived in forks. I was so excited when my dad told him that I was going to be picking up Bella and they needed to get going if I was going to surprise Bella at the airport. Billy and I packed up and I drove to Charlie's house. When they arrived I helped Billy out of the car we borrowed and ran to the truck to check it one last time before I drove up to port Angeles to pick up Bella.
"Everything looks great all we need to do is get Bella now" I said excitedly. A few seconds later I hopped into the car and told Charlie and Billy that I was heading to port Angeles. I drove the two hours trying to contain my excitement. I found the air hangar easily and waited for the plane to arrive.
As she arrived I debated on whether or not to introduce myself (I did) and whether or not I should help her with her bags ( she didn't need help with the one bag she had brought). As she stepped out of the plane I had to catch my breath because she was even more beautiful than her school pictures that I had as a reference. Her eyes twinkled as she descended gracefully down the plane steps.
I handed her the spare jacket I brought just in case she did not bring one. She thought to pack one in her carry on so I just put it back in the car. I lead her to the car and we began the two hour drive to Forks. The whole car ride I was thinking that she smelled like strawberries, one of her favorite scents.
I took her to an italian resteraunt I had heard nothing but great things about. I hoped she was hungry because I felt like I could eat about fifteen of everything on the menu. I tried to get a couple of conversations going but she must have felt awkward because she did not really answer. I was finished with my meal shortly so I waited a while as Bella twires her food around her plate trying to make me think she had ate more than she actually did.Bella's POV
I put my small winter/ rain wardrobe into the only suitcase I owned. I was wearing a lacey shirt that I had worn all the time in Scottsdale. My carry on items were a mini potted cactus and a heavy rain coat, I knew I would need it. I think I had come to terms with the fact that I was leaving the sun and all I enjoyed about it. I had already said my goodbyes. I told my mom,Renee, for the billionth time that I did not want to go to Florida ( I kinda did but wanted my mom to be happy with her fiancé, Phil) and I actually wanted to go to Forks ( which I had made my disgust perfectly clear in the past). As crazy as it sounds i thought I would actually miss the 100+ degree weather of Scottsdale.
