Jason's pov

When I got home from Caroline's, Luke was crying on the couch. I sit beside him, wishing I could help him. "I wish she could see me too." He shakily whispers. "Me too, man." "Why?! Why did this have to happen to me?!? Why me?!!" He yells, really loud. I don't have a clue what to do or how to help. He screams in anger really loudly and the living room light shatters. Whoa. Glass rains down and he disappears. Poor Luke. There's nothing I can do to make him feel better. I feel so lost. I clean up the glass and look up at the broken light. "Now how to explain this to my girlfriend?" I mutter, worried. I make something to eat when she gets home. "How was the hospital?" "Oh same old same old." She says, shrugging, looking tired. "It was annoying. This one guy he kept talking about this girl he hurt. I got so mad listening to him." "What'd he say?" "I'm not really supposed to tell anyone. Patient confidentiality but you know." I shrug. "Ya hungry?" "Sure." Then she looks up and sees the light. Crud. "What happened?" "Oh uh, me being stupid. I was playing my guitar and I swung it up." She stares at me for a second. "You're lying." "Huh?" How'd she know?! "What really happened?" She said crossing her arms. How did she know I was lying?! "I... I'm not lying." I shakily say. "Yes you were. Jason tell me what happened." "You wouldn't believe me!" "How do you know?" "Luke did it." I mutter quietly. "How?" "I dunno! He just got really mad and frustrated and he screamed and the light shattered." I don't know if she believes me or not. "You need to dump her. She's gonna get you locked back up!" I jump in surprise. Luke stood behind me against the wall. I can't and won't dump her. "Well I'm gonna go work on dinner." She says, walking to the kitchen. Man what do I do? "I'm serious, man." Luke says. I lean against the wall beside him. "I can't. I love her." "How?! You barely know her!" He snaps annoyed. "If you ask me, it's more like she said yes to dating you so she could keep an eye on you." Anger fills me suddenly. "That ain't true!" I gripe. "Cause if it was, don't you think she'd be home more?!" He rolls his eyes. "What you have with her..." He says pointing to the kitchen doorway. "Is not love. Me and Caroline. That's real love." "It's not her fault she's got to work!" I snap pissed. "She doesn't have to! Hell, you're a country music megastar." I can feel the anger in that statement. "Luke... You were bigger than me. Your fans miss you so much." "No shit." He mutters. "Hey Jase, can you come here a sec?" She calls. Uh oh. "Now ya done it." I whisper walking into the kitchen. "Who're you talking to." "Nobody." I say, sitting down. "I thought you believed me about Luke really being here." She sighs and turns around. "I want to... I really do but I'm a logical woman. It's hard to change the way I believe in a few weeks." I sigh. "It's true! How can I get you to believe me?" "I don't know!" I sigh, laying my head on my hands. My life has been slowly falling apart since my best friend died.
