Grace chuckled as she saw Levi enter the room with two large bags full with teddy bears and toys.
God, this guy would not stop, Grace thought.
Levi placed the bags in the corner of the new room that they had decided would be for their baby and then comes to Grace, who was sitting on the bed, and kisses her on the cheek.
“So how's my baby and his mama?”
“We're both good but this little girl is troubling me a lot nowadays. I've been vomiting since morning.”
Suddenly, Levi froze and Grace realized what she had just uttered. Grace internally punched herself for revealing the baby's gender.
She and Levi had decided that she will not tell him the gender until the baby is born and the gender will be revealed itself. Levi always liked surprises and the genuine excitement that came along it.
“I'm sorry... ” Grace whispered.
“We're having a girl?”
Grace nodded with a faint smile.
And in a blur moment, Levi starts pulling out his Micheal Jackson moves like he did when the pregnancy news was first revealed to him and started jumping up and down, his teeth pressed painfully together as he suppressed the excited noise.
“Oh my God, we are having a girl. Me and my princess will have daddy-daughter dates. We'll do pranks on you and make you angry together. Also, it would be priceless when I will show her your baby pictures. Oh my God, I'm so freaking out!”
Grace laughed as Levi jumped back on the bed, his eyes wide wide with excitement, “We're going to name her Alisha... I've always liked the name Alisha and when I was a kid I wanted a wife named Alisha but since you see, that wish was not fulfilled so I'm gonna name by princess, Alisha. Baby Alisha... sounds so cute, doesn't it Grace?”
Grace kept a hand calmly on Levi's chest and spoke, “Mi amor, as much as I love you and love the name Alisha, but still I won't let you name our girl Alisha. We need to call her Tanya. It's my great grandmother's name.”
Levi pouted and said, “Grace, I wanna name our baby Alisha.”
“No, it's Tanya—”
“—Alisha”
“Tanya!”
Both of them were now breathing heavily from the shouting when Levi suddenly sighed and kept his head on Grace's shoulder, “Okay, you win.”
He then kept a hand on Grace's belly and said, “Sorry baby girl, I need to sacrifice your real, precious name for your angry mother who might kill me if I didn't accept her decision.”
And then there was silence, both Grace and Levi wrapped their arms around each other, silently calling a peace to the argument.
After a minute, Levi speaks, “But you know how much I love surprises—”
Oh, Levi did love surprises but sometimes surprises aren't happy, sometimes they are terror that one would never want to welcome.
