Chapter 3-the dives

Tom~

I woke up by someone shaking me. It turned out to be jack and chris,trying too wake me up because I had to get up and go to training.Tonight is the first round of my diving. I got up and went for a shower i put my traning playlist on my ipod and put it into my docking station so i had something to sing to while in the shower shhhh dont tell anyone!its my secret only my family and close friends know.

I got out the shower and put on my trunks and my addidas tracksuit over the top.

i headed out the door shouting "bye" to chris and jack as i left so they know i have gone. i put my head phones in and started to arrange a playlist for later that would get me ready to dive and get my head in the zone. i got artists like chris brown , cheryl cole , coldplay, flo rida , katy perry, jason mraz,a sneeky bit of one direction,and other people like that. i saw Lauren on my way so i stopped to have a little chat she wished me luck and said she would be there supporting me tonight and tomorrow. she was probably my bestfriend since the beginning of my diving career.

i turned up to training and andy was waiting for me . "sorry"i shouted as i walked into the changing rooms to take my tracksuit off. i walked back out and i practiced all my dives 3 times and then andy said i can go and rest ready for tonight. i ran back into the changing room and then rushed to my room lay on my bed,and watched the olympics on the tv. it was now 5 pm so i jumped out of bed and got all the things i needed for tonight. i walked over to the aquatic centre and went and got changed into my trunks and tracksuit. they started calling out all the divers names so i got in the line and we all walked out all smiling. there was so many people waving there GB flag i was amazed. they went trough the names one by one and loads of people cheered when they said my name it was an amazing feeling. i seen my family in the stands and waved to them before going to take my tracksuit off.

*after the dives*

i only just managed to have qualified for the next round. i would of liked to have come higher up but you cant get everything you want and really diving was a on the sport day. i decided to head back to my room so i could rest for the semis tomorrow morning. i went back to my room jumped in the shower then got straight into bed.as i got into bed my phone went off and it was Lauren saying that i did well and that i will do great tomorrow. i text back saying thanks and that i was going to sleep now to rest and i would see her tomorrow morning for the semis.

*the next day*

my alarm woke me up at 8 so i could be out the room by8;30. i got up and got a drink of water out the fridge i packed my bag for this mornings competition and headed down to the food hall i grabbed a slice of toast then headed to the aquatic centre. i got there went straight to the changing room and got into my trunks and tracksuit again. i walked out there was loads of people cheering my name it was an amazing feeling. i went and took my trunks off and came back out and put my olympics playlist on and then i focussed on my next dive. i had now done all of my dives and i was 4th. i was amazed at this and i had got through to the final tonight. everyone was saying how well i done.i walked over to andy and said to him i can get into the medals tonight i know what i have to do i come 4th just and im going to get higher tonight i can feel it.

i walked back to my room once i had got changed and i jumped into the shower. i lay on my bed thinking about tonight and how amazing this opportunity is that me tom daley just this person from plymouth could be in the final at the london 2012 olympic games it all seemed like a dream i pinched my self a few times just to check i was not dreaming and i wasn't!!!!

i knew how proud my dad would of been of me for achieving this. and i'm not going to lie this has been the toughest 18 months of my life the death my dad and then training so hard to get to the olympics i just wish he was here to see me. while thinking about all this i fell asleep ready for tonights big final...
