I was quickly crossing the road to reach the lab as soon as possible. I had to check the development of the experiment started the day before. All I could think about was “Did I keep it at the right temperature? What if the DNA got damaged during the last step?”. I was feeling very anxious about it but also excited. That experiment was what I obtained after years of studies, failures and successes. It was like a son to me. A baby DNA ready to be analyzed. I pushed hard the heavy glass door of the building and kept it opened with my foot just to look for the keys in my pockets to open my locker. I wore my white lab coat, a pair of clean gloves and I entered the Microbiology lab. I looked at my test tubes ignoring that my hands started sweating. “Yes! I did it!” was the only thing I was able to say looking at them. “Ssh! Jin you’re way too loud this morning!” replied Jungkook whispering from the end of the table, where he was writing down a ton of numbers. “Ehy babyboy, keep doing your boring first year stuff and don’t bother me” I said giggling at him. I took the test tubes for the next step. “Jungkookie, set the PCR material up” I ordered him, without taking my eyes off those test tubes. “Do it by yourself, someone has to do the inventory and that one is me”. Jungkook was attending his first year at the Oxford University, Biology. I’m always so happy when I see new students approaching this beautiful kind of studies. Well, that was what I’ve been studying for 5 years. Biology was my soulmate, what took my energies and my time, but it was also what gave me a wonderful job in the place where I spent almost my last decade of life . As he entered my lab the first time, Jungkook was used to sit and do properly his job. At the very beginning he looked so shy (maybe because our age gap), but our friendship grew up as germs in a warm enviroment. Those Science jokes are even worse than my usual dad ones.
I spent my entire day at the lab finishing the experiment with great results. Before leaving, I wrote the lab report in order to give it to my professor, who followed my studies since my second year. He was the one who made me proud of my work. It really worthed. I walked straight to the dormitory, tired. It was almost dinner time, so I asked my roommate if he wanted to eat together. “Just let me finish this chapter and I’m ready”. Meanwhile I took a quick shower just to wash off the smell of latex and alcohol. What a pity, I really liked it. Yoongi switched off the lamp on his desk, wore his shoes and reached the room’s door “I wasn’t hungry until you made me notice it was dinner time” he said. “You’re lucky Min Yoongi, I’m always hungry, you’ll never skip a meal” he laughed at me and pushed me out the room putting his tiny hands on my shoulders.
This is my first time writing on Wattpad and this is also my first time writing in English. Hope there are not too many grammar mistakes, I'll gradually figure out how to make it work
