(This part is before chapter 2 and is from the blue hedgehog's pov)
I ran around the city, looking for any signs of trouble been cause by my arch-enemy, Dr. Eggman. It didn't take me long before I spotted Eggman and his, trying to destroy a part of the city. "Eggman, what are you doing here?" I asked nicely. Eggman turned around to see me standing there. "What does it look like I'm doing, rodent. I'm starting the Eggman Empire and you're not going to stop me. Hohohoho" I knew Eggman must not have learnt by now. His Empire was never going at start, not while I'm around. So I smashed some of Eggman's robots. I then stopped and jump onto a building close by. "Eggman, you know that you will never start your Empire. Not as long as I'm here to kick your butt" Eggman looked annoyed "I know that. But the next time you see me, Sonic, you'll never guess where I'll strike next. But good luck finding me next time" I tapped my foot patiently "I'll find you regardless Egghead. I know that you're probably planning something very big. But I'll find out and stop you' I then spin dashed into Eggman's hovercraft and sent it flying back towards somewhere far away from here.

Later on, I decided to take a quick nap right next to a big oak tree. While thinking of what Eggman was planning. What could it be? All I knew was, that Eggman never gives up. Just then, I heard Eggman speaking though a microphone saying 'that he was back. This time he has hostages and if I don't turn up, he is going to punish an innocent hostage' I had to stop Eggman before it was too late.
