Martin Kratt and his brother Chris, were each others best friend, even though there was a four year age difference between them.
There was no rivalry between them. Which had surprised Mr. and Mrs. Kratt.
The boys did everything together.
They pretty much enjoyed each others company.
Mr. and Mrs. Kratt both knew that their children were special. They were born for something special.
What that special thing was, the parents didn't know and in some ways they felt as if they weren't suppose to.

As the brothers got older, Mr. and Mrs. Kratt didn't seem to notice that the boys would start wondering out of the backyard and into the wooded area of their backyard.
In 1999 was first time they left the safety of their backyard, Martin was 7 and Chris had just turned 3 years old.
They had only noticed their children missing when it started getting dark.
Before Mr. Kratt could call the police, Martin and Chris returned home.
Mr. Kratt put the phone back on its hook and turned to face his boys.
"Why did you boys leave the yard?" Mr. Kratt asked.
The boys were covered in mud. Mud was every where.
"Called" Chris said with only the one word.
Mr. Kratt looked at his youngest. Apparently his youngest only going to give him one word answers. So he turned to look at Martin but before he could ask Martin anything, his wife spoke up.
"Where?" Mrs. Kratt asked as she entered the room. She had been in the kitchen when she had heard her youngest son speak up.
"We don't know, Mama" Martin said looking down at his muddy shoes.
Mrs. Kratt looked at Chris.
"Chris, where did you and your brother go?"
Chris shrugged.
"Don't know. It dark" Chris said.
There was a sigh.
"Dinner will be ready soon. Martin you and Chris take a bath. Martin help your brother", Mrs. Kratt said.
Her sons took off their muddy shoes and socks before running up the stairs.
"Hank, put up the fence you were telling me about yesterday. You know the one I said we didn't need?" Mrs. Kratt said once she heard the bath water running.

The next morning, the fence started going up and by lunch time, Chris and Martin saw it finished.
"Daddy, Mommy said no fence" Chris said with a pout.
Mr. Kratt turned to look at his son.
"Sorry buddy, mommy changed her mind about the fence" Mr. Kratt said as he left the now fenced in yard.
The boys pouted for a couple of minutes at the fence.
"Marty it call again" Chris said.
Martin sighed. His brother who was only 3 still couldn't speak in complete sentences.
"Chris, I know. I hear it too," Martin said.
"Wanna catch?" Chris asked.
The question pulled Martin from his thoughts.
