My eyes flutter open, the mismatched green and blue  staring at the dark ceiling. My bed creaking as I sit up. My platinum blonde hair falls down my shoulders as I stand on my charcoal black carpet. "Blaire! Get down here!" My stepmom yells. She hates me, and always has since I'm not her actual kid. My dad passed a few years ago, and she knows how devastated I was. She didn't care. I reach the bottom of the stairs as I see my three step sisters sitting at the table. Alice, Ryleah, and Violet. Alice and  Ryleah are the mean ones, being the oldest and twins, while violet is a very sweet seven year old; quite beautiful too! I've taken a liking to Violet, she's eight years younger than me but I treat her like she's my age, and my blood sister. The mumbling at the table stops as the T.V. turns on, "Good morning Atlantia! I'm here with prince  Kai and his lovely parents, our king and queen, Markus and Rose! Thank you for joining us this morning as we announce our laddies joining us for the chance of a lifetime, The selection! As you all know, twenty-five girls enter this contest for his hand in marriage, Prince Kai!" "I hope we get in! That doubles our chances of being queen!" Alice says flicking her brown hair over her shoulder. "Me too! I can't wait!" Ryleah says, the contest only excepts 16-18 year olds. Me now being 16 would make me eligible, but I have no interest in being queen. "Girls! Shush now!" My stepmom says brows furrowed at the twins. "Alright! Miss Alice Alaan! A four," "AHHHHHHH!!" The whole house erupted into chaos. "Miss Ryleah Alaan! Looks like we have twins! Also a four!" Again, the house has never been louder. A few seconds later I hear something I never thought I would, "Miss Blaire Alaan! A four! Wow three from the same family! That's amazing!" Me. My name. Me standing in the rose garden. A smile on my face, holding a rose, a huge smile on my face. The only place I smiled, considering it was my fathers garden. But still, me there in my black leather jacket right there. And now I was in the selection. Me. But the thing was, I never entered.
