Chapter Two
Harry Styles Friday, 7:58 am
“That’s what makes you beautiful!” I sing into the microphone.
Dave put up five fingers, then four, three, two, and one.
“Okay, Harry,” he started. “That was good. You feeling the song?”
“Yea, mate. It’s catchy,” I respond.
We’re recording the first song of our Up All Night album. It’s called What Makes You Beautiful. I love it, honestly.
“Great, bud.” Dave gives me a ‘man hug’, as the Americans call it, and then pats my back. “See you tomorrow.”
“That you will, Dave,” I quickly say. I walk out of the building and jump in my Range Rover to head back to my flat.
8:37 am
“Lad, you here?” I call out to the flat that seems to be empty. I walk in and take my beanie off, setting it on the top of the couch.
“Yea, mate, in the kitchen!” Louis calls at the top of his lungs. I squint my eyes from the noise and start walking toward the kitchen.
“Make me some breakfast, Lou?” I ask. I’m very hungry; all of that singing made me starved.
He sighs, but eventually gives in. “Fine, BUT this is only because you’re my best mate and because you just sang for a few hours on end.”
“Thanks, lad.” I pat his shoulder and walk to the loo.
After I ‘do my business’, I push the shower curtain open and start the water.
“Louis, I’m taking a shower quick!” I holler over the pounding sound of water falling to the shower floor. He responds with an okay as I step into the small space. I stand there for a few moments just letting the hot beads of H2O fall on my delicate skin.
I’m really happy with our new album coming out. I think our fans are going to be very excited. My favorite songs of the Up All Night album are “Little Things”, “She’s Not Afraid”, and “Up All Night”. I just got done recording “What Makes You Beautiful” today and since tomorrow is Saturday, we’re not recording. We usually record Monday through Friday and get a little break on Saturday and Sunday. That’s good because this entire recording thing is beating me up. I’m in the studio from three o’clock in the morning to eight o’clock in the morning and then from seven o’clock at night to ten o’clock at night. It’s horrible, but it all ends up being worth it at the end of the day when I go on Twitter and see millions of amazing tweets from amazing fans. There’s this one girl that tweets to me everyday and they’re the most amazing tweets. I even screenshot them so I can keep them. She might not think I see them but I do. I just don’t respond; maybe I should someday. I think her name is… Avery?

History seems to be dragging on and on. I’ve been wondering all day what Jackie was talking about on the bus.
