I never knew I could hate someone so much as I could that Lizzy girl. Adrian thought to himself as he sat on the beach watching the wave roll into the tide. She’s so annoying thinking that she’s better than everyone because she can throw knives and she is the daughter of Poseidon. He sighed and lay on his back looking at the moon.
“I know you’re there mom,” Adrian said looking at the moon. He traced the outline with his finger. “Always watching out for me even if I feel like you aren’t.”
“So you feel the same way,” a voice behind Adrian said. Adrian turned around and saw Lizzy. He fought the urge to grimace as she sat next to him. “I’ve always felt that my father was there, but never really was.” She sighed. “You probably think I’m mental.”
“I just think you’re a girl who has been misunderstood,” Adrian said wanting to slap himself. Why did you give her a meaningful answer? You hate her! You should have just said she was crazy. Adrian saw Lizzy smile in the darkness. She has a beautiful smile. Adrian thought to himself again. What did you call her smile beautiful? Where are you Adrian? “Somewhere over the rainbow.”
“Huh?” Lizzy said looking at Adrian strangely. Adrian turned red although thankfully, for Adrian, it was dark out and they could barley see each other’s faces.
“Nothing,” he said quickly. Lizzy looked at him strangely and then shrugged dropping the topic. Adrian started to make circles in the sand trying to cover up the awkward silence that hanged over them.
“Well I’m going to go,” Lizzy said starting to slowly get up. Adrian fought the urge to yell leave! He was starting to somewhat care about her and her beautiful smile and face. He wanted to slap himself so hard right then there. You’re an idiot today. Did your brain fly out the window?
“Don’t leave,” Adrian said quickly as she was about to take a step to leave. “You’re nice to have around even if you are annoying a bit annoying sometimes. You’re the first person who has understood me in a while.” He sighed and looked at her face. He could barley see it, but he could see her shining sea green eyes through the darkness.
“I guess I could say the same things,” Lizzy said sitting down only closer to him,” when I grew up with Rhea she never really understood me.” Adrian shuddered at the closeness a bit scared of it, but it felt natural.
“Immortals so powerful, but unable to handle children,” Adrian said with a smile. Dang you’re good at flirting. Adrian thought with a bit of a smile. Wait, I’m flirting. Oh Lord Zeus save me. Lizzy laughed and Adrian looked up. Her laugh is gorgeous, if a laugh could be like that at all. Adrian smiled. “Well I’m glad you like the joke.” Lizzy smiled.
“Defiantly one of the better ones I’ve heard,” Lizzy said. She was about to say something else when he heard a cough behind him. Adrian turned around to find Percy staring at him glaring.
“What do you think you’re doing?” he asked staring Adrian down. Adrian knew that Percy could be nice, but when someone did something to his family that he didn’t like he could be dangerous.
“Talking,” Adrian spat back glaring right back at him. His hunter senses were tingling. He knew there would possibly be a fight soon.
“Well you should go find some else to talk to other then my sister,” Percy said putting emphasis on the word talk. Adrian wanted to punch him there and then. Who the heck does he think he is? Just because you’ve said the world twice doesn’t mean you get to rule the camp.
“Well what if I want to,” he said starting to slowly stand up,” you can’t tell me what to do even if you have saved the world.” Percy nostrils flared.
“Well you can’t tell me what to do even if you are the only son of Artemis,” Percy spat back. Lizzy started to intervene when they heard a snap come from the woods. They all turned as Percy uncapped riptide, Adrian brought out his bow and arrows, and Lizzy got a knife ready.
Out from in behind a bush stepped out a girl with curly red hair. She wore a shirt that read Fear Art. She smiled. “Hey guys,” she said stopping to smile at Percy and Adrian. She frowned when she saw Lizzy. “Who is she?” she asked.
“Well this is-“Percy was saying before the girl’s eyes turned green and smoke came out of here mouth.
“What’s happening?” Lizzy said or more like screamed as the girl spoke several words.
