Early in the morning, suddenly I feel my bed shaking vigorously. I suddenly fall off the bed. "Holy ducking pretzels!!! What was that?! Huh!? An earthquake!!! ". I suddenly feel a pillow hitting me right in my face, that too my pillow. I rub my eyes and hear loud squealing "Ahhhhhhhh!!!! We are finally graduating Sofia!! It's our fucking graduation!!". "Jeez, Sharon language."
As my sleepy dizziness fades away I see my 2 best friends Sharon and Jessica arguing again, that too at 6 in the morning!! God, please give me strength to deal with them so early in the morning. "Hey guys, what's the matter now?" I say exasperated. "Sofia!! " They both squeak together. "Did you forget your own graduation? Have you even prepared your Valedictorian Speech?? ".
"Yes. Of course, I have. I have to give it on 21 September." I look at both of them confused... I mean I know that they are a bit crazy but they aren't that crazy.... Right? "Do you even know today's date?". Jessica looks at me like I'm dumb. I look at her confused. What is she talking about?
" Sofia, today is 21st September ". Sharon chided me. I look at her in surprise. Then it clicks me " Fudgenuts!! Today's graduation!! Shit, I'm the valedictorian!! I need to speak in front of the whole batch!!..... How could I forget that!!! "
"Duh.... But you obviously did" Sharon said knowingly. "And we knew that, that's why we already prepared your outfit for the day" Jessica said compassionately. "Awww..... You guys are the best!! What would I have done without you both!! I love you so much! ".
" Well, without us you would have probably.... Fallen off on thin air and would have been laughed at while the high school get together " Sharon joked. "Now that would have been a sight". " Heyyy!! Not you too Jessica! " We all giggle together like little girls.
"Hey girls, have you woken the baby Godzilla?? " My dad shouts from downstairs. "Daaaddd!!! " " Okay okay, don't burst your old man's eardrums " My dad shouted back from downstairs. "Honey, come on stop teasing her. It's her graduation today. " My mom defended me. I know I can't see her right now but by the quiver in her voice I know she's gonna cry.
"Oh no, the mother Godzilla is about to cry" My dad teases her. "Shut up now you" My mom counters back. And they start the lovey dovey bickering the next will be the PDA.... What can I say... My mom and dad were the high school sweethearts and they still are together.
My mom is a surgeon and my dad owns the Evans Enterprises. My family is wealthy you can say but my mom and dad earned that on their own and are loving and caring too. I have never had any such difficulty in life and I'm thankful for that.
"........ And puff you are ready after that step. " I heard Sharon speaking. "What.....? " I'm sure I have a deer caught in the headlight face plastered on my head. Sharon takes a deep breath "Did you again space out when I was speaking?"..... Ouch. I gave her a sheepish smile.
" Where's Jessica? " I wonder out loud... I swear this girl was here just a second ago... How does she disappear so quickly? Sharon rolls her eyes and replies "She's gone downstairs to raid your kitchen"
"Oh no, that girl I swear!!". She eats like a bear and I'm damn sure she'll find all my secret stash of chocolates "Don't worry it'll be fine " I reply - "yeah, I know, like it was last time." I roll my eyes.
"Were you two talking about me? " Jessica suddenly appears at the doorway that makes both me and Sharon jump in horror. "Jeez, Jessica, don't scare us like that! " "Okay, sorry, sorry"
"So let's start getting our valedictorian ready, shall we?" Sharon raises an eyebrow and me and Jessica both perk our ears.
So, let's make introductions, Sharon and I, we have been best friends since kindergarten as our mums were besties and Jessica joined our group in middle school when I suddenly spilled my chocolate shake on her. Since then we have been inseparable.
After getting ready together, we wear our graduation robes and leave with my mom and dad for the school. Jessica and Sharon's parents will meet us there directly. I was wearing a white dress which was hugging my upper body and flowy below my waist with a really cute back design.

In all, we 3 looked absolutely amazing with the accessories on.
After reaching WSU, we mingled a little and I went to the stage as I was the valedictorian. We all took our seats and waited far the ceremony to begin. All our 3 mums were already in tears and crying about how their babies are growing too fast. At the right time I gave my valedictorian speech and safe to say, didn't trip on the death trap heels or jumble the words.... Now that would have been a sight to see.
When I was receiving my degree I could feel the pride reflecting off my dad and the tears in my mum's eyes. I felt so happy at that time, receiving my medical degree, finally I would be able to achieve my dream of being a doctor .
Sharon received her degree for commerce and Jessica for art. We all were so happy!!
After the ceremony, at the afterparty, we had a lot of fun.
I wish when we move to NYC, we still be this close and happy.
