Mephistophelian
Heart broken Ellie stared at her reflection in the full-length mirror. Her body was quite jerking and a soft whimpering sound was barely heard inside the dim-lighted room. Her face glistened with freshly shed tears, make-up smeared, puffy and glassy eyes.
“Michelle is pregnant and I'm the father of her child. I will marry her.”
“I'm sorry Ellie, I didn’t meant to hurt you. It was...an accident. We're both drunk that night and you're not there with me. I felt so alone and cold. Then there's Michelle.”
Those were Lucio's last word before he left. It shattered Ellie's heart, killing her in deep emotional agony. Day by day, she lives in melancholia and abhorrence.
The once a blissful woman was now a woebegone. She isolated herself from everyone, not trusting anyone for she was been cheated by her lover and her best friend. Ellie promised herself not to engage in a romantic relationship again, that she won't fall in-love once more, that she won't let her heart be broken once again.
But then again, she felt butterflies in her stomach when she met Lenard -the same feeling she had to Lucio, Lenard's father.
Isn't that ironic? She felt love to a boy she once hated and cursed to be dead for his existence caused the man she loved to leave her, living in woe for almost twenty years.
Love indeed moves in mysterious ways.
It was odd for a middle-aged maiden like her to have that kind of feeling. But upon meeting Lenard, who happens to be her nephew's friend, she was immediately infatuated with the teen boy's charm. She found glee every time she saw Lenard. And as days went by, her feelings towards the boy grew deeper, she developed this intense affection to him in which she concluded to be love.
She wanted Lenard very much, she wanted him to be hers forever. But with their 20 years age gap, romance wouldn't be nice for them. Besides, she wasn't in favor in a May to December love affair specially, she, the woman, is a decade of two older than the man.
“If only I can be young again, there might be a chance that Lenard will love me,” she wishfully told herself.
Ellie stared at herself on the mirror, scrutinizing her reflection. Her body was still in good shape, her skin is flawless but then, wrinkles were already present on her face, which emphasize that she is not young anymore.
She exhaled deeply as she stand still in front of the full-length mirror. Then, in just a blink of her eye, her reflection suddenly disappeared and a mix of greyish and green smoke forms spirally. The atmosphere around her became murky, wind blows through her skin making her cold. She embraced herself automatically as her way of getting warm. Ellie's eyes widens and she was petrified when a blur image that sent her creeps appeared on the mirror. She don't know what it is but as it gets clearer to her vision, she saw someone like a human, but, at the same time, it differs from it. He is a male as evidence by the appearance of his chest , which is flat and hairy. His body structure is likely human except from his lower limbs, which look like a donkey's feet. She goggled in his head, Ellie set off in trepidation, her fear is on it's peak - her body vibrated and it seems that her airway is obstructed disallowing her to breath.
