Home.

It is the safest place in this world. The one that shelters the heart's purest form. Though not everyone is lucky enough to find a home. Once you did, then the fortune is yours.

I have always thought that his words are my home, that his touch is my shield to this grievous society.

Mi Amore,

Your sweet voice resounds in my ear, making my heart flutter. If you would consider it appropriate, let us meet each other later. Three o'clock in the afternoon. I will wait---

I immediately kept the paper on my pocket as I saw my friends approaching me with our lunch.

Imelda waved and walked faster. "I am so hungry. The line is too long and there are a lot of students buying." She said as she lay down our food and wipe the sweat off her face.

I smiled sweetly thanking her. "It's okay. I was also doing something a while ago." She handed my food to me. Since it is always crowded in the canteena, it became our tradition to take turns in buying our lunch.

Carmela, our soft-spoken friend, also went to our table to eat with us. Before she even put down her food, she tilted her head and gave me a meaningful look. I tried to ask her what's wrong, but she just sat and act as if nothing happened, so I dismiss it.

While we were eating, I noticed her looking at me with her unusually curious eyes. The third time I caught her glancing at me, I raised a brow.

She just shook her head and tied her long hair before she continued savoring our lunch.

I already know what that look means. I already prepared myself for it.

Imelda remained clueless as she continues to talk to our classmates. Of course, as usual, she didn't know there is something nerve-wracking, but exciting scenario happening later.

After finishing our food, we spent our remaining time talking about piano and laughing demurely with each other every time Imelda will share a pun.

While going to our next class, my palms started to sweat coldly. I feel my heart pounding loudly as if it wants to fly out of my body. This is not the first time I will pull this kind of stunt, but I still feel nervous.

The thought of it didn't leave my mind for a second, and I kept looking at my watch. At exactly 2:55 in the afternoon, I waved my hand at Carmela's direction trying to get her attention. When she saw me, her lips curved into a smile. She already knew what to do.

Ignoring the tension I was feeling, I pouted and breathe heavily. I hope this plan will work. No one will suspect Carmela, she is shy and timid.

She gracefully walked to my direction, but before she even reaches me, she fell unconsciously causing a loud thud in our room.

My heart fell.

"Carmela!" I hurriedly went to her and asked if she is fine.

I immediately caught the attention of the friar.

"Padre, I think Carmela needs to rest. She's been pale for a while now." Thinking of ways how to convince the friar to let me go with Carmela in the clinic, I tried to act as if I'm really worried. I even shed a tear.

The friar just looked at us and lazily nod as he resumed his discussion.

I assisted Carmela until we went passed our hall, making sure that everyone thinks she is really sick.

But instead of going to the clinica, Carmela and I headed to the school gate. The big letters of Colegio de la Immaculada Concepcion de la Concordia were carved outside our academy.
