Julienne picked up the new case file from Charlene at Proper Nannies.  Over coffee in the small lounge, she looked over the case file for her young new client:

-- 4 years old boy.

-- Recently moved into the area.

-- Received counseling for slight behavioral issues (ongoing).

Further down the case file, she looked at the client's requests:

-- Monday and Wednesday - Noon pick up at Sycamore Chase Prep (only the best school prep school in Atlanta) with Light meals (lunch and dinner) for the child.

-- Friday to Saturday overnight (7:00pm to 11:00am) - Dinner and Breakfast for child and parent(s).

-- Recreation and assistance with school assignments when needed.

-- Parent(s) would be home by 7:00pm.

Seemed straight forward enough.

She would be picking up Mr. Pierce at noon.  Taking another glance through her overnight case, she checked off the items in her head one by one. She'd hate to forget anything and have to go back for it.

Glancing back at the schedule she wondered about the the long weekend hours away from his parents, although that wasn't unusual for kids who attended Sycamore Chase.  She wondered if the "special circumstances" Charlene glossed over was another case of having too much money and too little attention at home. He might turn out okay, so long as they didn't name him Blue Moon.

Either way, she'd soon find out. Shaking her head,  Julienne gathered up the case file and travel bag and headed out the door at exactly 11:30am.

**********

Sycamore Chase was located on the suburban southwest side of Atlanta. It was comprised of one large brick and white stone building with four smaller brown stone buildings attached by glass walkways.  The large park like quad could be seen directly through the center glass of the largest building. Moss trees lined the long driveway and were used to hide the parking areas at the sides of the large structure.  The moss trees alone marked the change in social status.

Julienne followed the signs around to the hidden parking area of Pre-K building, aptly named the "Future Scholars Building".

By 11:50am, she'd been finger printed, photo graphed, and given a parking pass and key card. You'd think I'd joined the secret service!,  Julienne gripped. Ushered into the waiting area an aide walked down a short hallway followed by bubbly youngsters. All except one.

And, that must be Mr. Pierce she thought.

"Miss Greenwood?"

She stood, "Yes".

"I'll have to scan your badge for pick-up".  Her name tag read, "Brittany".

Julienne blinked.

Scan my badge for pick-up? This is a child we're talking about, not toilet paper at Costco!

She covered her dismay with a smile directed to young Mr. Pierce.

Holding out her hand, he sized her up. After a moment, something flashed in his eyes, and he grabbed on to her hand. Hand in hand they walked to the car.

She snapped him into the car seat she'd picked up at the Agency. Proper Nannies always came prepared!

Keeping up a constant cheery chatter; he continued his silent treatment all the way home.  As they pulled into the driveway, she heard a wail from the backseat.  Alarmed, she parked and hopped out to open the back door.  Keeping her voice calm and soothing, she hoped: "Oh my, what's the matter? I'm Julienne. We're going to have lots of fun together. What do you say we go inside and make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for lunch?"
