Marc POV
I sat on the bench, moving uncomfortably. My glasses kept sliding off my face and my hands were shaking uncontrollably; but I'm sure this is how most guys might feel when they're about to confess to their dream girl.
"Marc!" I heard from behind the bench. I stiffened. My heart became even more chaotic. I was so embarrassed to just look at her. "What's up with you having to meet me here?" She was now right behind me.
"I-I... uh.." My words couldn't come out. She tilted her head in confusion. I took a deep breathe. "Ede-"
"Oh, Hey!" She said cutting me off. "I got the new junkies T-shirt and CD!" She became more and more excited as she jumped over the bench and sat. And so did I.
"No way!" I shouted, forgetting all the nervous and anixous feelings that once was within me.
"Hell yea!" She said, giving a big cheesy smile. She grabbed her bag and went through her stuff, then pulled out a CD and two t-shirts. "I got a t-shirt for you too!" I grabbed the t-shirt with speed and put it to the sky to see the design.
It had a skull on the top of the logo for the band, Junkie, and splats of reds, pinks, yellows, white, and green all over the shirt. On it's shoulders were the symbols for the band, a skull that wore headphones, had diamonds in it's eyes, was covered in muiltple colors and had seemed to smile. It was awesome, I- wai!
I'm not suppose to be excited about the Junkies! I should be telling her how I feel. That's what I came to do! Gosh, I'm such an idiot!
I took a deep breathe and gave her a serious look. "Eden," I said to her. She continued to smile innocently until she looked into my eyes. She put the t-shirt and CD in her lap then turned her body to me.
"Yeah..." She said. "Is something wrong. You seem to be in a daze lately, I thought getting you this stuff would make you feel better..." She bit her nail. "Was I wrong?"
"No," I said as I, once again, twittled my tumbs nervously. "I liked the stuff but what would really make me feel better is if you listen." She stiffened. Her eyes became glassy, almost transparent.
"Whatever I did I'm sorry!" She shouted.
'What are you talking about!?"
"If it's because of the dumplings thing I'm sorry!"
"Wait, YOU ATE MY DUMPLINGS!"
"I'm sorry~!" She made a cute little face before I could scold her and, with my newly found feelings, I accepted her appology and sat back down trying to calm down and remember what I came here to do. But I really wanted those dumplings.
"Nevermind that," I tried to get that serious tension back up again. "Listen to me." She stiffened once more and gazed up at me. Her brown, almost hazel eyes made it all the more harder to do this.
"I'm listening." She said.
"I..." I took a deeper breathe than any of the ones before. "I like you, Eden. A lot. Not in the best friendship way but as something more. I really like you." I closed my eyes tightly; I was scared to see her reaction.
There was a silence.
And more silence.
Too much silence.
I couldn't take it!
I slowly opened my eyes to see Eden stunned. Her mouth was wide opened and her eyes even wider, staring at me. "E-Eden?" I waved my hands in front of her face yet she didn't budge.
"Marc," She mubbled. "Are you serious?" Her face was now serious, more serious than I ever seen before.
"Yeah," I said nonchalantly. "I would never play about this." She looked at her lap then at me again.... then repeated the motion again. And again. And agian. She's making me nervous!
"Say something!" I bursted out, startling she and I. She nodded.
"How long?"
"For a couple weeks now."
"How much?"
"A lot."
"Why?"
"Because..." I paused. "You make me feel... happy. And nervous.... I just can't stop thinking about you." Her face turned red and her eyes became that of an owls.
"OMG! YOU'RE REALLY SERIOUS!" She said turning herself from me and holding her cheeks.
"O-OF COURSE I AM!" I began to become annoyed. "You know what! Forget it!" I got up from the bench and grabbed my bag (with the stuff she bought me in it of course). "Forget I ever said anything. I get it, it's weird for me to like you and you don't take me serious. Let's just forget this."
I began to trudge off, heart beating hard and brain feeling tired. I even started to prepare how I would act around her and what I would say to her tomorrow. It's done, whatever.
"WAIT!" I heard her shout. I turned around, giving her a straight look. "I-I'll think about it!" Her face was so red. It was too cute. Those words, her face... made me so happy; It showed she was taking this seriously.... could I.. have a chance?
"I'll think about it." She walked up to me, bags in her hand. "It was just so sudden I had a hard time wrapping my head around it... but I'll think about it." She looked from my eyes, Which I'm pretty sure where big as the moon, and blushed then looked at me with a smile.
"Really?" I questioned, still in disbelief. She nodded. "Eden... " She blushed hard and looked me in the eyes.
"Uh....Marc." She said anxiously. "Your hand!" I blinked then realized my hand had been on her face. Cuffing her check....and my thumb traced anything it could reach. I Blushed and let go immediately.
"S-see you tomorrow." I said, turning from her.
"Yea." She said. Then I walked up the hill and started walking home... then, for a second, I turned around and saw that she was staring at me. We looked at each other for some time until she turned to leave.
"Am I dreaming?" I ask myself.
