Typically, when you meet someone for the first time you give them a kind gesture as a greeting. Such gestures could be a simple handshake or an introduction of one's own name followed by a small conversation to get to know the person in question. Meeting someone by the end of a crossbow gun is not what one would call a typical meeting by any stretch of the imagination, however, it is a unique way to meet a person nonetheless. This is the situation that befell the drow rogue Lorion when he first met the goddess of time Amasha. How is it these two individuals from two completely different worlds managed to meet in such a way and manage to become romantically involved? It all stared in a town in another dimension known as Pax Segementum.
Lorion had found his way into Pax Segementum when the town was first formed. The drow rogue had just got done with a mission and was looking for a place to stay and recover while also grabbing a bite to eat. While at the tavern Lorion struck up a conversation with the tavern's owner Samuel. To say that there was tension between the two of them would be as blunt a statement as the sun is bright. At no point did the two of them get a long as Lorion could sense something malicious about the tavern keeper and Samuel made no attempts to relax the man's anger, opting instead to add fuel to the fires of aggression. In the corner of the tavern, face buried into her book, was Amasha, known at that point under her goddess name Time Diamond, who overheard the aggressive discussion taking place and decided to try and intervene. "Excuse me. If you two are going to have a squabble could you at least do the rest of the tavern the courtesy of taking it outside?" Amasha said in a stern voice as the two men looked at her, anger visible on Lorions face while Samuel remained calm. "Who are you to tell me who I can and can't get into an argument with?!" Lorion said as, in a moment of anger, he pulls out his crossbow from his jacket and he points it in her direction. "Touchy...but that won't really do anything against the goddess of time. Fire if you want. It won't make a difference" Amasha says as she lowers her hood and Lorion can see a small diamond emblazoned on her forehead. "You? A goddess? Don't make me laugh lady! If you want to die so badly then allow me to send you to the astral plane" Lorion says fueled by his aggression as he fires off a bolt towards Amasha. As the bolt flies towards her Amashas eyes start to glow a bright light blue as time itself slowly came to a halt as the bolt was mere inches away from the bridge of her nose. In that moment she then moved herself to the left of the bolt and then turned it back towards Lorion, aiming it in a way that it would fly past his face. After she moved herself out of harms way and turned the tides of time in her favor she snapped her fingers and time resumed its normal flow, the bolt flying past Lorions cheek, the speed of the bolt causing his cloud white hair to be moved by it, his head turning back in shock to see the bolt he fired being reversed. Samuel also took note of this but kept his calm and rather creepy demeanor as he took not of this goddess' powers. "To think someone would actually try to shoot a goddess. That alone would be enough to banish you from this realm foolish mortal...however you seem to be new to this realm, so I will let you off with a warning traveler. I shall leave you with this: Try to shoot me again and you will regret ever pointing that crossbow at me." Amasha says as each word gets angrier and more filled with scorn till she is face to face with the now shocked Lorion. Lorion simply nods at her in understanding, all of his aggravation and anger having faded away in an instant after witnessing what could best be described as divine intervention. After all the chaos that had taken place between her, Lorion and Samuel Amasha decided to leave the tavern to go explore the realm to see how its creation had progressed. Lorion shot Samuel one final look of anger, as if to let him know that he was going to be keeping a close eye on him and left the tavern.
While Lorion and Amasha did not meet on the most pleasant of terms this did not mean they would become enemies because of Lorions brash actions. Weeks later after their encounter at the tavern Amasha found herself relaxing by the side of a lake, taking notes in one of her leather-bound books. When she pulled her head up from her book she took notice of Lorion as he was retrieving water from the lake into a large glass jar. In that moment Amasha took notice of Lorions physical details such as he near obsidian colored skin, his glistening ruby red eyes, his silvery white hair that hung down to his shoulders and a scar that ran across his cheeks in between the bridge of his nose. "Enjoying the view?" Lorion said as he aimed his eyes up at her and caught Amasha scoping him out and stood up, closing the bottle with a cork and setting it down by his feet. In that moment Lorion noticed quite a few details about Amasha such as her eyes being one brown on the left and one blue on the right indicating heterochromia, her short hair that covered her blue eye and was a dirty blond that resembled the sky of a setting sun and that her face was adorned with small freckles which quickly turned a light shade of pink when she was discovered scoping out Lorion as she averted her gaze from his. "Well I figured it would be wise to recognize the face of the drow who tried to shoot me. Quite a risky move on your part I must say. No one has ever dared to take such a bold move before" Amasha retorted as she allowed the blush on her face to face and looked back at him, noting that he stood as tall as a beanstalk. "I suppose now I should be the one asking for forgiveness. I was getting rather irritated by that tavern keeper and I lost myself in that moment. I don't blame ya for sending a warning my way" Lorion replies to her as he sits down across from her and crosses his legs. " As I said as long as it doesn't happen again your fine. We haven't been properly introduced. Though I introduced myself as the goddess of time my real name is Amasha Lavergne. And you are?" Amasha says as she smiles a bit and extend a hand to Lorion across the lake. "The names Lorion. Lorion Rivenstorm. Its nice to meet you in a proper manner" Lorion says as he reaches his hand across the lake and grabs onto Amashas as the two share a hand shake across the lake. "Likewise. So, what brings you here to Pax Segmentum" Amasha says as she pulls her hand back and looks at Lorion, her eyes now filled with a genuine sense of curiosity. "Wish I could tell ya. All I know is one moment I'm on the road and the next I find myself in this Pax Segmentum place. What exactly is this realm?" Lorion says as he watches as she opens a book and starts to write as he speaks. "Pax Segmentum you mean? Simply put it's a pocket dimension that houses a town in which weary travelers or those in need of healing are brought so they can recover and return to their adventures refreshed and refurbished. If you're here that means you must need healing of some kind" Amasha says in an astute ton tone of voice as if she were a teacher to a student. "Well it certainly can't be that near scratch ya gave me from that crossbow redirection ya pulled a while back. All I know is I got here by accident it seems. Being a monster hunter ya tend to go to a lot of places to find your mark" Lorion responds in a matter-of-fact manner. "Monster hunter? So, you must have come across some interesting beasts then? What have you hunted in your time?" Amasha asks as her curiosity starts to peak and she jumps across the lake to meet him and hear more. "Are you always filled with questions? You're a goddess so shouldn't you know all about the world?" Lorion says as he watches her hop over and get close to him, looking at her with a confused but surprised expression. "Just because Im a goddess doesn't mean I'm omniscient good sir. I like to ask questions, so I can learn more. Knowledge in our world is important right?" Amasha says as she pulls out her book and quill and she gives Lorion a smile. "Never thought the first time I meet a goddesss shed be the one asking 'me' questions. Still I suppose I got some time to kill while I'm here" Lorion says as he lets out a sigh but cracks a tiny smile. Hours passed as Lorion recounted detail after detail of his experiences as a monster hunter from taking on an army of rabbid owl bears to his encounter with a legion of mind flayers. As Amasha listened to him recount his tales she wrote down detail after detail of all the things she never knew about from the way monsters behaved to the weapons and tactics used by Lorion. "So even though most of your targets are monsters you're mainly a demon hunter" Amasha says as she finishes writing and looks up at Lorion. "Essentially. They are the ones that appear the most so that's why I call myself more of a demon hunter than a monster hunter. Still that's enough about me. What about you Amasha? What can you tell me about being a goddess?" Lorion asks as he looks at her curiously as she closes her book and stands up. "Wish I could stay and tell you, but it is getting rather late. If you'd like we can pick this conversation up another time? Perhaps at the tavern? " Amashas asks as she dusts off the grass and rubble off her outfit. "If I didn't know any better I'd say you were asking me on a date" Lorion responds with a soft chuckle. "Don't get ahead of yourself mister. I just figured we could enjoy a more contemporary setting for our next meeting" Amashas says with an eyebrow raised and a smirk. "That's fair. The tavern it is then. See you around then" Lorion says as in response as he waves to her and walks off away from the lake. "See you around" Amasha responds as she makes her way out of the woods towards town.
