4AM

The alarm clock started ringing rousing Elizabeth from her sleep she opened her eyes, turned the alarm clock off, and then spent a little time lounging around enjoying the early morning. She looked at her clock, 4 a.m. she had to be at work at 5 it had been a month since she started her internship at San Francisco's biggest most world-renowned hospital:

Our Lady of Juno Care Center

It was a miracle she had even gotten the chance for an internship she knew people that were still on the waitlist to get into the program. She didn't want to be late so she got up and started to do her daily morning routine she brushed her teeth took a shower and by 4:30 she was ready to go. She walked out of the door of her apartment complex and started to make her way to the back where her car was parked.

"Today's a good morning", she thought to herself. The sun barely peaking out from the horizon shined on her blonde hair it was in a braid but when it wasn't in a braid it almost reach down her butt. She'd always been proud of this hair and she promised her mother she would never cut it no matter what. Elizabeth smiled to herself it had almost been four years since her mother died. At the time it was very sad but now she had found peace knowing that her mother wherever she was was at least not suffering anymore. She opens her car door gets in and starts to make her to make her way to the hospital.

The hospital was relatively close about 5 miles away and it only taked her 10 minutes to get there since the city was not yet awake. She clocks in at 4:42. If there's one thing she hated it was being late. She always like to be a little early so she could take care of business. Elizabeth heads down to the changing room to change into her scrubs so she can do her early morning rounds.

"Hey liz looking good"

Elizabeth quickly looks up from tying her shoes to see Danny looking at her.

"Danny! Oh my gosh you scared me" she says with an exclaimed look on her face.
Danny smiles "Come on Lizzie I'm not that scary am I?"

"Danny!" Elizabeth says pretending to look angry "how many times have I told you it's Elizabeth or nothing at all"

Danny laughs, "I know, I know. Guilty as charged. You know, Elizabeth, when are you going to let me take you out?

Elizabeth blushes, "Danny you know the answer. I just don't have time for a relationship right now"

Danny sighs, "It doesn't have to be a relationship. Just let me take you out"

"okay, okay" Elizabeth says, "Danny you know what? If you can get Dr. Jimenez to let you scrub in on his prostatectomy today I'll go out with you next Friday

"Damn girl!" Danny says in a high voice, "Your stakes are high!"

Elizabeth laughs, "yeah yeah Danny see you later I got to go do my rounds before my attending comes in"

Elizabeth scurries out of the room Danny runs to the door and yells out after her,"Don't think this is over! I will take you to dinner!"

Elizabeth chuckles to herself she lifts up her hand and waves goodbye but she doesn't turn around cause now it's time to get work before her attending Dr. Hanson arrives at 5.

She reaches the nurses station. Nurse Betsy is there handing over copies of rounds sheets to another group of interns. Nurse Betty turns around and exclaims in a thick accent of unknown origin,"Elizabeth! There you are girl I was just wondering where you were I know you always get here early."

"Sorry Nurse B" Elizabeth says, Nurse B was a nickname that everybody called her "Danny was holding me up"

Nurse B laughs and hands Elizabeth the round sheet.
