"Wake Up! Wake Up Summer we're here!"

Julian my younger brother kept on screaming. My dad has been driving for like 20 hours after we left the house, we only stopped for snacks and for bathroom breaks. I opened my right eye and saw we were park in front of an old mansion. Not what my dad said it was like, I remember him saying,

"So kids we'll be moving to another house and let's say it isn't that old, maybe a little but not a lot. Plus that house was the one your mother wanted before she....died."

Now that I see the "house" dad was talking about, I can tell why my mom wanted this house, it was away from the city, it had a beautiful garden and there was a little river running down a hill. The point is I know we're not alone, I can feel someone else around. This might seem crazy but I can see and talk to ghost. Yes, sometimes I do see and talk to my mom but my dad and brother don't know, if they knew they'll probably think I'm crazy and who knows what they'll do.

"Dad, you said it was a "house" not a mansion but anyways it's beautiful I guess. Also it is old. Can we go in?"

My dad turned to me so he was facing me. He stared at me and smile.

"Summer, well it's the same thing, house and mansion. Yes it is beautiful. Not that old probably one hundred years old. First help me with the suitcases, then we go in but when the moving truck comes with everything Julian and you will help me, okay?"

I smiled back and nodded.

"Alright dad, but one hundred years old is old. Let's get moving shall we?"

He nodded and got out of the car. I turned around to the back seat and saw Julian crying, not sobs but silent crying and Buddy our dog curled up next to him.

"Julian what's wrong, why are you crying? Don't you like it here?"

He lifted his head and wiped his tears before looking up at me. I could see through those blue eyes that he missed mom, and I did too.

"I miss mom, Sammy. Yes, I like it here, but with out mom it feels wrong like this was her dream house but she's not here and it's just us."

"Julian, I miss her too. And yes this was her dream house, but I bet she'll be happy if we just think she's here because she is. Julian listen, I know it doesn't feel like mom's here but she is and she wouldn't want her boy to be sad, she'll want you to be happy and you know she loves you and always will. So put on a smile and let's help dad."

He nods and and wipes away more tears before getting out of the car. I sit there for a while with Buddy in my legs. Then I feel someone next to the drivers seat, I slowly turned my head that way and see my mother is seating there staring at me with those emerald eyes like mine. She has that serious face she always gave me when there was something going on.

"Summer please take care of the family, this mansion I wanted is not the best place. I started looking around and read that the families that lived here died. I want you to find a way to....."

Then she disappeared as fast as she had appeared.

"Mom! To... what! To research to find out what happened to the families to break a curse or to what!!"

But I was to late she had already left. Someone knock on my window and I jumped, it was my dad. I open the door and Buddy ran to Julian. I didn't want to look at my dad, I didn't want him to see that I knew something was wrong, I just stared at the river running down the hill.

"Summer are you gonna help? We could use another pair of hands ya know?"

I just nodded and stared at him for a second looking at those grayish eyes and seeing that he also missed mom, then I turned around and got out of the car.

"Okay."

"Thanks Sammy"
