Chaeyoung's Flashback

9 Months ago, Chaeyoung's House

The house was littered with Minjun's toys. It was left as if he would come back to play again. Dust has slightly settled on them but not many, implying Minjun hasn't been gone for long. Silence cloaked the whole house, the sound of laughter was replaced by the chirping sounds of crickets. The state of Minjun's parents weren't well, both were dealing with their son's death separately. Mina isolated herself with the many tangible memories of Minjun, while Chaeyoung chose the devil's drink to mask his depression.

The house tonight was only illuminated by the moonlight, Mina sat in the living room, holding on to Minjun's stuff penguin he held every bedtime. Sana was worried about her friend's condition, so she visited her very often.

"Sana, why was he taken so soon?", she spoke for the first time since Minjun's murder.

Sana relieved Mina was speaking but sadden at the first sentence she uttered, "Mina ... please, this isn't what Minjun wanted, you're killing yourself ...".

Sana has tried to get Mina to eat a sufficient meal and get enough rest since the 'accident'.

"If I died I can see him right?", Mina abruptly stood and smashed a vase, she was about to cut her wrist.

"MINA NO!", Sana ran to Mina to stop her, fortunately, for Sana, Mina suffered from anemia, she fainted in Sana arms.

Sana panicked, she saw Mina was semi-successful in cutting but it wasn't too deep of a gash. However, with Mina's behavior, she doesn't want to risk it. Sana tried calling Chaeyoung but no luck. Luckily, Jeongyeon came through the front door to see Sana crying and Mina between her arms. She carried Mina to the car and drove to the nearest hospital.

Sana sat and waited for her friend to wake up, then her phone rang. Chaeyoung's name flashed on her phone. Sana was fuming at her friend's husband.

"CHAE, WHY DIDN'T--".

"Excuse me, the owner of this phone is complete wasted, we need to close the restaurant, we called the most recent phone number. Miss, could you kindly take him home?".

Sana sighed, she should have known. She looked at Jeongyeon laying on the couch, staring blankly at the ceiling, waiting for Mina to wake up. She didn't want to disturb Jeongyeon with her little's brother destructive behavior, Jeongyeon has been under a lot of stress already. So she decided to get him herself.

"I apologise sir, yes, I'll go get him", Sana faked an excuse to Jeongyeon and left.

Sana bowed to the bartender, who was looking utterly displeased by Chaeyoung. Chaeyoung was indeed drunk, his head was leaning on the bar humming nonsense.

"OH SANA-SSIIII ANNYEONG!!!! HEY BIG GUY! One drink for the pretty lady!", he yelled at the bartender, "huh? Where did everybody go?".

"Chaeyoung get up, you're drunk, it's time to go home", she said crossing her arms and glared at his direction.

Chaeyoung smiled at Sana, "hmm... getting picked up by a pretty lady", he winked at the bartender, "not bad ey?".

The bartender didn't even entertain him, he just grunted and rolled his eyes. Sana being impatient dragged him, Chaeyoung was not cooperating. She had to support his weight on her shoulders, Sana is not a small lady but she wasn't tall or strong either. Chaeyoung was very muscular and tall, making Sana stumble to the taxi. Chaeyoung felt a headache coming, so he rested his head on Sana's shoulder.
