~Prologue~

"Leelaaaaaaaaaaaah!" She screamed. Honestly, that girl could never overcome her stupid fear of heights, she just had to come with me, didn't she?!

Anyway, she should have stayed at home instead of coming to The Adventurers trip. But, being the dumb ass my best friend is, she came with me anyway! But The Himalayas is the most beautiful and breath-taking place ever. With it's colossal of infinite snowy mountains, I could feel the frosty wind blow on my face, despite the scarf and woolen beanie pulled down my red ears. This was one of my most favourite trips The Adventurers club had offered, since my first day when I was just ten.

But that was four years ago. I had to leave this amazing club when I am seventeen, so it's just three short years to go. The Adventurers club was basically an amazing club where kids 10-17 years could join and do a lot of fun stuff, by which I mean sports and going abroad for five weeks, in the summer holidays.

"Leelaaaaaaaaah!!" Jade screamed my name again, this time to the screechy limit her voice could go "I want to get down, Leelah. Get me down!"

I looked down to where she was hanging onto a slate of mountain rock, for dear life. Even though she had so much harnesses and safety gear, she was still acting like a traumatised idiot. We were opposites, but we were besties, people would say.

"For God's sake!!" I yelled down to her. "You have to hike, you idiot! That's why we're here on the flipping amazing Himalayas! You really shouldn't have come, you know."

"She's pretty tired, I think. Not as tough as us. Haha!" Yelled my other best friend, Joe. His black beanie was pretty much covering his brown eyes, and his black hair was camoflauging in his beanie. Unlike the rest of the club members, he was wearing a dark blue coat which, I have to say, was not much protection against this weather. I met him in my first year of school, when I had to sit next to a boy in class. People would ask if we were brother and sister, but I pointed out that I had extremely dark brown hair, and hazel eyes. Joe had a messy mop of jet black hair and dark brown eyes that they were almost black. But you could still see the laughter, anger, excitement or sadness in them.

"Arrrrrrgghh!!!" Jade burst out in exasperation and exhaustion. That's what you get out of a girly-girl who tries her hand at any type of sporty activity: 5% effort and 95% complaining and I-don't-want-to-do-this-anymore attitude. I love it when they call us opposites.

"We're nearly there, anyways" Kara, one of the three heads of The Adventurers club called down.

"Thank the gods up above!!" I heard someone cry. Seriously, a mountain isn't that hard to climb when you put you're mind off the pain, I can tell you.

Once we were there, at the very top, we found a safe place to sit. And, I swear to God, the view was more amazing from up above. We were in the clouds, the clouds, dude. And all the many mountains were laid out in front of us, with the snow spilling down the like white icing.

"Oh. My. God, god, god. god... GOD!" I yelled. I almost couldn't believe it. We were at the top of a mountain in the Himalayas. Although this was calculated the smallest mountain on Kara's map, it was still the most beautiful mountain I'll ever be able to climb. You know when you get that fluttery feeling in your stomach right before you sing on stage or something? I had that, but it was probably ten times more fluttery and overwhelming. I was slightly nervous, but really happy and proud.

"Swaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaag dude!" Joe yelled, pretending to be some American guy who's obsessed with the word dude and swag. Actually, come to think of it, Joe and I are saying 'swag' too much, lately. I have no clue why.

"We totally got swag,  bruv! We made it!" I yelled. The crazy guy with his messy mop of black hair and chocolate brown eyes was completely brotherly to me, so I normally call him 'bruv' or 'Joester.' Don't ask why, they're just crazy nicknames.  "Hey," I asked, scanning my surroundings for a straberry-blonde head "Where did Jade go?"
