~Chapter 2~~Jade~

Laylah and I were experimenting with the makeup Laylah had brought; we were busy trying out new techniques we found by ploughing through endless YouTube videos. Not to mention, trying our own techniques worked fine as well. Laylah was trying to finish off the mascara and shadow for the Taylor Swift Casual look she had been trying on my freckled face when a loud 'thump' was heard next door, from Joe's room.

We hurriedly left our cosmetics and went next door, only to find that Joe's electric guitar had somehow unclipped itself from its guitar strap.

"Oh, flip!" Joe wasn't the guy who swore... In fact, he never swore. "I guess this stupid strap wasn't tight enough, DAMN!"

Leelah got up from Joe's keyboard (Joe had a love for instruments) and started to clip back the strap to the guitar. They were both in an awkward position: Leelah was kneeling down on the floor, fixing the strap, while Joe was weirdly standing there, looking at the broken strap, then Leelah

Then the strap, then Leelah's dark hair.

"There!" Leelah said, standing up. "Let's get back to the song. You were on A minor chord, right?" She asked,  looking at Joe with a questioning look on her face.

"Y-yeah." Joe stuttered. Wait. When did Joe stutter?

Laylah and I went back to the room next door.  I opened the door and asked Laylah "What the hell was that about?"

"I-i don't know." She answered, a look of clear confusion registering on her face.

We got back to the damn cosmetics, continuing in silence.

But the silence was broken only a few minutes later, when Joe poked his head around our door. He asked if he wanted to see Leelah and him peform two songs. Obviously by Maroon 5, they had a shared love for the pop-rock band.

It was 'Payphone' first. With Leelah on acoustic guitar and vocals, she shone the brightest. She was always musical and had a strong passion for music, but a stronger love for creating stories. Whether it was an improvisation or written down, she always asked anyone how they thought it was coming along.

Joe, electric guitar and background vocals, was luminous as well. He had a deep voice, so he went as a slight back-ground singer as well. He was good at singing; most of the girls in Year ten, our year, were always drooling over him... including Laylah. But his charm never affected Leelah or moi.

'One More Night' was just as good. An Leelah and Joe's voices were clear, strong and amazing. Listening to the strong po-rock melody of their voices was accurate, as always. They always sand, whether it was live or just a quiet murmur of a melodic tune. It was still beautiful even when it was a loud and upbeat pop tune.

They were still singing away. Laylah and I were noe trying on Marai's beautiful gowns, dresses and tops. She literally let us handle any of her things, because she knew we were the careful ones. Yeah. Leelah and Joe were the messy ones, I think you already figured that one out.

We then had dinner. Oh God. Dinner was the most delicious and succulent roast chicken (yes, the whole one) Marai could muster up for all three families. It was lush, with the sauce pouring out of the chicken's sliced and well-cooked flesh. Mmmm... I need more of that next time. She had used Nando's 'Extra Hot' Peri-Peri sauce. All of our favourite sauce, because all of us always went to Nando's every now and then. Talking about this kind of food makes me already smell the spicy taste in the air already... making my mouth water. Shite.

After that, well, sorry to say, we went home.
