Nicole

It was after class and I was just sitting alone on the bench, as usual.

Rain and I usually get picked up at the same time here on this bench. Things have changed ever since her parents split, so now her mom picks her up from school early. I usually complain about it, but right now I think it's best if I stay alone, especially after yesterday's incident.

Yesterday was a total blur. I could barely even remember anything that's happened right after I bumped into something. I could've sworn it was a wall, or maybe even a door swinging open. Whatever it was, it gave me this weird bump on my forehead and I get constant headaches now. I'm also the laughing stock of my school! They just love talking about how the preppy, all-A student bumps into something stupidly and goes unconcious after. How mature!

I tuck a strand of hair behind my ear so that I could plug in my earphones, but a deep voice from behind startled me.

Kendall Schmidt.

He was loud, like always. He didn't care about what others thought of him and he didn't care about others at all. Since he was also a senior like me, we've been in the same classes for a while. He was the guy with the dark hoodie that rolls his eyes whenever I raise my hand to answer the question.

I look to the left to see him speaking to someone on his phone. If he catches me staring at him, I'm probably going to be dead in a few minutes.

"Hey, I can't see you tonight... Yeah! I know, I'm sorry! .... Mitz, you know whatever." Kendall finishes off, clicking his iPhone off and digging it back to his pockets. "Stupid bitch." he murmurs, walking down the school pavement.

A sneeze suddenly slips away from my mouth, causing him to turn his attention to me. My cheeks flush into a shade of red and I look away, hiding my face. He then started moving closer until he stood in front of me. My plan failed and yup, I'm going to die tonight.

I look up at him, closing my mouth.

"What are you looking at?" he spat, eyebrows scrunched at my presence.

I plug in my earplugs, looking away. "Don't you think it's rude of you to call your girlfriend that?"

"Really?"

His hands move so swiftly, I didn't have time to jerk away from his touch. He moves his body so close to mine, clutching my jaw. "She's my girlfriend, and I own her. You have nothing to do about it because it's obviously not your business. I suggest you shut your sorry mouth if you have nothing else to say." He whispers at me, his teeth about to gnash before my eyes. I shiver in horror and nod quickly, a tear about to fall from my eye.

He lets go immediately and backs away, leaving me to gasp for air. Great. The people are staring, my head's even dizzier than it already was, and now I've been threatened by Kendall Schmidt. Wayy to go, Nicole! I look away from him and bite my lip in nervousness.

"What are you waiting for now? Hanukkah?" Kendall once again comes closer to me, still bringing chills to my spine.

I muttered back, "Do I look Jewish to you?"

Chuckling, he stares at how clueless I looked and crosses his arms.

"You're so pathetic."

"I'm aware."

I look down, eyes starting to swell up a bit. I exhale in shame. Why was he even paying attention to me? I thought he hated me? I thought he didn't care? It was all coming quite clear to me when he offered a hand, forcing a smile.

"Let me take you home."

I tilt my head to the left, arching a brow as I removed the earphones off of my ear.
