[3] Principal's Office

The bigger the school, the easier it is to blend in.

"There they are!" Leo exclaims, walking towards us. "Ah, intense, huh?"

"Mmm-hmm." We reply while we do our handshake.

"Hey, Georgia thought we were gunna end up in prison, but I think we're already here." Rafe says.
"Yeah, well, you know, at least in prison we can carve, like, shanks out of toothbrushes, you know." Leo says.

"It's good to see you, Leo. Honestly, I didn't think you'd be here, too." I reply.

"This was the last school in the district that would take us. Holla!"

"Holla!" Rafe and I exclaim.

"It's so weird-" Rafe starts but gets cut off by a woman.

"Excuse me. Is your name David?" She asks. Rafe glances at me as if he would say, 'What's happening?'

"No." We reply.

"Were you carved by Michelangelo?"

"No."

"Stop standing around like a statue. You're blocking the flow of traffic."

"Yeah, you heard the warden, get back to your cell, Rafe, Tegan." Leo says, mocking the woman, which makes us chuckle.

"Hallway etiquette is no laughing matter, young man and woman. And rule number 11 clearly states, 'No loitering in the halls'."

"Okay." We say once we stop laughing.

"Okay?"

"Okay, sir...?" We correct.

"It's vice principal Stricker. Go, now."

"As you all know, it's 8 weeks until the biggest test of the year! Do you know what it is?" Dwight asks.

"Blaaaaar!" The students around me says.

I was sitting by Leo. I had no idea where Tegan was.

"Oh come on, say it with excitement!" Principal Dwight said.

"Blaaaaar!" The students said again. I was doodling a picture of Dwight saying "Blaaaaar!" A girl looked at what I was drawing and took my notebook!

"Hey!" I said, reaching for it. It was quickly passed along through the crowd. Taking pictures, Hawking at it and talking about it. It caused a HUGE commotion. I didn't know that Tegan was sitting a few rows in front of me.

"Hey!" I hear Rafe behind me. People started taking pictures with it and passing it around. I grabbed it and put it between the chair's seat and arm of it.

Principal Dwight was walking towards Rafe.
"What do you have to say for yourself?" He asked, snobby.

"He doesn't have anything to say." I say.

"Excuse me?" He walks to me instead.

"I'm the one who caused the commotion. I grabbed the book and started passing it around." I 'confessed'.

"So...detention, in school supention? What?" I asked wondering what my punishment would be.

"Hand me the book." He stated, bluntly. I glanced at Rafe. He nods slightly, but looks down. I handed it to him. He stares at it.

"I do not look like that!" He exclaims. "Assembly over! You two!" He points at me and Rafe. "Be in my office in 5 minutes!"

He marched out of the auditorium.

"Creativity is not a good thing!" Dwight said.

"I know, I'm sorry! Honestly I was just doodling!" Rafe defends.

"Alright!" Dwight says. "Read rule number 26 out loud, please!"

"Rule 26: Any written material deemed inappropriate will be confiscated and destroyed."

"And destroyed, very good!"

"Gus! Bring the bucket, the yellow bucket. This is a bucket full of acid, it will completely destroy your notebook! Alright! Goodbye offensive and inappropriate material!"

"Hold on! Look please, I've had that book forever, I've worked so hard on all those drawings!" I argue.
"In that case." He drops the book.

I glanced at Rafe, who had looked like his whole world has been shattered. My heart dropped, I felt a tear roll down my face.

"OUT!" He yells. We left with our heads down.

"You're lucky." I say, handing him an exact copy of his notebook.

"How?!" He asks, flipping through the notebook.
"Remember? You let me copy every drawing in case something happened to it." He put the book in his backpack.

A few minutes later, Leo came over.

"Hey!" Leo exclaims.

"Hey man..." Me and Rafe reply together.

"I don't talk about it, alright?" Rafe adds.

"Hey, ever open that thing I got you?" Leo asks.

"I'm sorry, I forgot." Rafe responds.
"No worries man, you've been busy. Just think it's a good time, y'know? Might cheer you up."

I see Bear's car honking and driving up.

"Wanna ride?" Rafe asks Leo.

"You're funny, No not with that doofus!" He laughs.

"Alright, see ya!" He says before Leo walks away.
