Lucy's POV

I puffed my cheeks out and rolled my eyes as Niall fumbled around the kitchen, occasionally mumbling a few words as he picked up different ingredients.

It's eight at night, i have no money so we couldn't go out to eat, and I get a robot who can hardly cook. Fantastic- Not.

"Niall, let me-"

"No! I'm good at cooking trust-" Just before i could hear the end of his pathetic attempt of making me except it, there was a loud knock on the door, which reminds me. I need to get the lock fixed still. Niall gave me an odd look before i span around on my heels and headed to the door.

The sky was dark, but i managed to see the snow that trickled down an coated every inch of land around. I smiled and pulled the door, my heart sinking at the sight in front of me. I could feel my head pounding as i looked at the woman who's rosy cheeks decorated her pale completion perfectly.

"Gran?" I questioned the woman's dark eyes lighting up automatically as a wide grin grew over her face, her short arms reached out and pulled me close, she let out a long sigh and chuckled a little.

"Are you going to let me in?" She teased, before stepping past me, i smiled and shook my head. Watching as she flung her coat over the arm of my couch.

"I was supposed to come to yours soon." I said, walking over and joining her in the living room.

"Well the weather will only get worse and i refuse to spend Christmas alone." She stated, giving me a small smile as her eyes wandered over my very bare living room.

"Lucy, i swear you don't have a bowl-" Niall shouted, marching into the room, a large grin on his face that instantly froze, as did he. My grans eyes widened as she scanned him over from head to toe, a tiny smile shadowing her face as she looked back at me.

"Oh, Lucy dear, who's this young man?" Her voice was high as she gave me a little wink before turning back to Niall.

"Gran! Oh, this is Niall. Niall, this is my grand-ma!" I introduced, Niall smiled and reached a hand forward taking my grans small hand in his and shaking it politely.

"Call me Margret." She began.

"Nice to meet you." Niall said, before straightening up, my gran cleared her throat and looked over her shoulder at me, giving me a cheeky grin.

"Why have you not mentioned him before?" She asked, Niall raised a brow.

"Well-" I began, not really having a clue of what to say, or at least how to put it. Like, 'Gran this is my robot, he was made for a persons certain needs.' I'm sure it'll go down very well with her.

"I just moved here from Ireland, and i needed a place to stay, so i'm just a roommate" Niall cut in, a reassuring smile on his face as my gran once again eyed him to make sure he was being legit.

"Yes!" I cried, before clearing my throat, swinging my arm aimlessly when all eyes turned to me.

"Well, i'm starved, what are you cooking?" She asked, Niall let out a small laugh and i sighed, shaking my head disappointed.

"Nothing.."

"Give me a minute, i'll see what i can whip up." My gran said, giving me a small grin before she blindly made her way into the kitchen, she peered around the corner before nodding her head and walking in. There was an endless rustle of pots and pans before i just dropped to the couch.

"Good cover." I mumbled as Niall joined me.

"Could have told me your nan was coming around" He grumbled, flicking some flour that was still on his hand at me, i let out a pathetic cough and nudged him weakly.

"I didn't know!" I whisper in a harsh tone, making him chuckle. The small shuffle of my grans feet was the only sound, before she spoke up, finally.

"While that's cooking, why don't you fill me in with everything?" She asked, taking a seat in the recliner chair. Watching as she flicked the switch and kicked her feet up before taking a deep breath, giving her a shrug.

"There's not much-" I began, but since she is my grand-ma, she stopped me.

"I got a new pet, you know?" She said, a small smile on her face as she lent further back, closing her eyes. Out of the corner of my eye, i saw Niall raise his brow again.

"Really?" I asked, not caring about her interruption, because honestly i had nothing to report back to her, she was a strong willed woman, so changing the subject away from her would just be a crime.

"Yes, a parrot. He talks to me, so when you don't call, i wont be so lonely."

"Gran, i'm sorry-" I said, but with a dismissal wave from her wrinkled hand, i shut myself up. Letting her continue on with her own story.

"I'm playing you up, dear! Niall, tell me about you! What was your life like before moving?" She asked suddenly, my eyes darted to Niall who sat up straighter. He let out an inaudible sigh before looking over at me desperately.

"Did you meet any nice men on your holiday, gran?" I said, my question sounded more like a desperate plea, which for Niall's sake. It was, a large hand discretely gripped onto my, much smaller, one and gave it a squeeze, i looked up and my eyes locked with Niall's blue ones as they glistened down at me.

He mouthed a thank you and gave me a quick wink, making heat rise to my cheeks. I lent my shoulder on his and turned my attention back to my gran who was still talking about some guy she'd met.
