chapter 2: new friendships

(emmas pov)

i wake up around 11:30 am to start my day

the majority of my day consists of getting coffee and grocery shopping before i head out later to go bowling.

5:27 pm

i begin to drive home when i start to receive a call.

*phone rings*

it's james. i place my phone in my lap and press the speaker button as i continue to drive.

"hey james what's up?"

"hey emma! i'm here with ethan and grayson and we just thought it would be easier to pick you up instead of taking separate cars later"

i pause for a second focusing on the traffic

"um yeah that actually sounds great! i'll send you my address"

james replies "perfect! we'll be in the black bmw. see you soon sister!" james let's out a squeal of excitement towards the end of the call and hangs up.

i pull up in my parking garage and walk back to my apartment to get ready.

i could hardly contain my excitement. i connect my phone to my speaker and blast music throughout my apartment as i do my makeup.

(ethans pov)

i get into the drivers seat of the beamer and turn the keys in the ignition while i wait for james and grayson get into the car.

i was nervous the meet emma for some reason. i've always been so shy around new people

what if she thinks i'm too loud or a douchebag or...

i stop my negativity from getting the best of me

anyway, emma seemed pretty chill and outgoing. i watched a few of her videos a couple days back just to see what she was like.

she was very carefree and witty from what i could tell. she had also mentioned being a fan of me and grayson in the past but that didn't phase me.

james and grayson get in the car. james types in the address while grayson queues up some music.

"you sisters ready to meet emma?" james asks while placing one hand on my shoulder and the other on grayson, shaking us back and forth vigorously.

i nod to james as i pull out of the driveway

"i promise she's really cool. also don't be afraid to joke around with her, it will make her feel less awkward"

"i've seen her twitter and stuff she seems pretty funny" grayson says calmly while shuffling through his spotify

james continues to talk "maybe once we get to know her we can film a collab or something"

we continue the conversation as we arrive at emmas apartment complex.

emma gets into the car. we greet her and start making our way to the bowling alley.

(emmas pov)

i leave my apartment and head to the car to meet the twins and james.

i hop in the back seat and give james a hug.

"hi sister i haven't seen you in a while! that's ethan and that grayson...but you probably already knew that."

i chuckle and roll my eyes "haha yeah. hi i'm emma"

james continues "so we were thinking of going bowling and then after, maybe we can go do karaoke..."

"oh my god yes! i'm ready to out sing all of you" i say sarcastically

"uh i don't know about that..." ethan pauses "i'm a pretty good singer" everyone in the car laughs

we talk about life and how i moved to la on the way to the bowling alley.

throughout the night we take pictures and snapchats of us having fun and bowling.

this feels good. they all seem like people i could get along with. ethan and grayson are super funny and chill

the twins and i would have conversations, but for some reason i gravitated more towards ethan.

from what i can tell ethan and i have a lot in common. the same sense of humor and some of the same habits.

it's not that grayson wasn't nice or anything like that, ethan just seemed to get me more even though we just met.

after bowling we head over to karaoke.

we sing and laugh all night. i sit next to ethan for majority of the time.

i felt comfortable enough around the twins and james, so singing wasn't a problem

ethan and grayson do a duet on the microphone. their singing started to sound like yodeling so everyone laughs.

1:34 am

the night comes to an end so ethan and grayson drive me home.

"thanks so much for tonight" i continue "its been hard adjusting to la life so i'm glad you guys have been so welcoming"

grayson sighs with a grin on his face "anytime. it was nice meeting you emma"

i start to get out of the car

"hey emma wait" ethan scrambles for his phone "give us your number so we can hang out soon"

my heart did a thing

emma he's just a friend asking for your number. just give it to him it's not that big of a deal.

i give ethan my number and he shares it with grayson. i say my goodbyes and walk back to my apartment.

i have a smile on my face thinking of the memories from tonight.

i could get used to this

(ethans pov)

emma starts to walk away from the car.

she seemed to get me. i could see myself becoming really good friends with her.

james sits up from the back while i pull out of the parking garage "hey e you and emma would be so cute together...just saying" james smirks.

"chill out" i laugh "i just met the girl"

"okay but don't say i didn't tell you so in the future"

she was kind of cute, but i didn't let get the best of me. for now we are just friends, i want to get to know her better.

sorry this chapter is a little long. the first one was pretty short so i wanted to make this one descriptive and also add ethans point of view.
