Chapter 1: first day

   "What on earth is going on here!?" Yelled the principal, as he grabbed my arm, pulling me away from the raven haired boy I was with. Well.....the story leading up to this is quite.......interesting. So let's start from the beginning, shall we. It all started on the first day of school. I had arrived with my two best friends, Hunk and Pidge.

    As we walked through the doors, I turned to my friends, "new year new me, don't you agree guys?" "I agree that we're still going to be the same losers of the school, yes." Pidge said back. " I agree with Pidge, Lance. We're never going to be noticed by the populars, and honestly I don't really want to change either." Hunk agreed softly.

    I for one had to argue with him. I'd do almost anything to not be a loser anymore. But deep down maybe it was nice to be a little bit of a loser? I mean we don't get bothered. No one cares about me and my friends weird games, and I happen to have some of the best friends ever. In my opinion of course.

    Pidge is a tech and science genius. They're pretty short, but if angered can take your middle half out. While Hunk is a chef/engineer. He's a sweetheart and doesn't have a single bad bone in his body, but he's certainly not afraid to stand up for his friends. Now I on the other hand, am a ladies man...well I try. I mean I'd like to think I'm a ladies man.....but the truth is I'm just a loser. I'm not smart, or have any talents, and I certainly don't have popularity. I guess that's just one of the cons of being a loser.

   (Time skip)

   As the three walked down the halls they saw a particular face, Keith Kogane. Keith was somewhat among the popular crew. His brother Shiro, was the hottest, most popular guy in school. There was also Allura; the hottest girl ever, and the rest of the hot, rich kids. So Keith was kinda taken along with them. Allura is also not to mention, Lance's biggest crush, and everyone knows it too, including Allura.

This time Keith was all alone. Well... surrounded by girls that is. He didn't seem happy about it either though. "Look at Keith, not even enjoying all his fame. I would kill to be that popular with the girls!" "We know Lance you've told us that a thousand times." Pidge told him rolling their eyes. "Yea Lance, that's practically all you talk about. Oh look a cute girl. Ooo I like her. Oh I wish Allura would date me." Hunk stated in a mocking voice. The whole group laughed at that, even Lance.

The group continued walking down the hall, to their class. Keith was leaned up against a wall, surrounded by about six girls. He never asked for all his popularity. He was just dragged into it by his annoying, big brother, Shiro. It's not that he hates girls.....it's just that they're not.....his type. Yes, Keith is gay, but not many people know except Shiro, Allura, and a few others. Others either assume, don't care, or don't pay attention. But no one is completely sure about his sexuality, at least not fully. He doesn't deny it. He's openly gay, and if someone were to ask him, he would gladly tell them.

As he waited by the bathroom door for Allura to come out, shooing girls away as best he could. He noticed Lance walk past. He was laughing with what Keith believed to be his friends. Keith didn't know him very well, but he encountered him enough times to know that Lance seemed to hate him. He didn't know why. He thought Lance had said something about a....rivalry, but he wasn't sure. Maybe something in his past? He didn't know, and he didn't care. He didn't care for Lance either. But one thing was....kind of weird though. Why did Keith feel weird every time he saw him?

"Staring at a cute boy again?" A voice said behind him. Keith jumped, and had suddenly realized who had said that. "W-what? N-no! I was- I don't even like him. "Haha! Keith calm down I was just joking." Allura said reassuring him. "Yea Keith, she was only just trying to mess with you." Shiro said suddenly appearing out of what seemed like nowhere. "Well I wasn't. I don't even like Lance." "Ahh so that's who we're talking about? You know Keith, I've seen the way you look at him. Are you suure you don't like him?" Shiro teasingly asked Keith. "SHIRO!" Keith shouted obviously flustered with a growing blush, so that only they could hear. Shiro and Allura both laughed at how easily flustered Keith gets. While Keith demands them to stop.

The bell rings and everyone quickly runs to get to class, leaving the hallway empty with no one to be seen. Once in class, Lance sits down next to his bff hunk. Sadly Pidge didn't have math first period. The hour goes on as boring as ever. When Lance realizes that Keith was just in front of him. How could he have not of noticed sooner, with Keith's ugly mullet just a foot away. He turns to Hunk who is already done with his work and whispers quietly. "Psst, Hunk." "What is it Lance?" He whispers back. "Hey I didn't know mullet head had math first period?" "Well maybe if you asked him you would have known." "What? no way! I wouldn't ask him for a pen, even if he was the only person on this planet with something to write with, and I had to sign a contract to keep my life." "Not even then?" "Not even the-"

"Lance McClain! Unless you're done with your work, you better have a good excuse for talking in my class." The teacher interrupted. "So are you done Mr.McClain?!" Lance's voice cracked, "N-no Mr.Rax..... "Then I expect to see you after class!" The teacher snapped back. The rest of class was even more boring, and Lance was really dreading after class. But someone else was about to soon dread it too.
