Levy P.O.V
I crouched on top of a near by roof, where soft white warehouse in view. The sun had set and we were waiting for the ship to dock and unload. " Would you stop fidgeting." I whispered loudly as I smacked Gajeels arm. He had been doing nothing but drumming his fingers and his leg hadn't stopped shaking with impatience. " I don't do the whole lying in wait thing." He whispered angrily as Natsu snickered. I groaned but bit it back as the ship pulled into the dock. It took a good hour for the ship to be unloaded, and another hour before everyone left. " Ok, we got three hours. No telling if there are sniffers inside."I said quietly and they nodded.
We quietly slid down the roof we had perches on, leaping as we reached the edge. I carefully grabbed onto the eaves of the warehouse, making sure not to hit the metal too hard. The other three followed, making little more than a thud sound as they grabbed the eaves. We pulled ourselves up and quickly climbed to the peek of the roof, where small windows allowed us to peer inside. " No coats or sniffers, just three security guards." Lucy said as she knelt beside me. I looked to the boys. "Ok muscles, get to it." They smirked while Lucy opened one of the windows. Natsu quickly slipped in, Gajeel stopped to ruffle my hair, making me blush before climbing in after him.
" Somebody's got a crush." Lucy said with a smirk and I blushed, slapping her arm. " What about you? You and pinkie have been joined at the hip." I sneered, making her blush and i tried not to laugh before turning back to watch the boys. Gajeel easily render two. unconcious while Natsu took down the third on the far side. We waited until Gajeel gave a short whistle, signaling the coast was clear. Lucy and I slid in through the window, landing on the tops of cargo racks and climbing down. I handed them each a slip of paper from my belt. " Only get what's on your paper, and be quick." They nodded and spread out through put the warehouse.
The boys and I were gathering things for Droy while Lucy was getting the order of serum. It took nearly an hour before we met back up again. Lucy had a huge grin on her face as she gingerly held the brown box in her arms close. " This will take care of a good percentage of the slums!" she whispered excitedly and I couldn't help but grin as well. We stuffed the supplies for Droy in a canvas bag before Natsu swung it over his shoulder. I started climbing back up the cargo racks, and I had to bite back the uneasy feeling in my stomach. This is almost too smooth. I thought as I hauled myself out the window.
Then our luck ran out.
I squeeked as a bullet embedded itself just in front of me and I had to stumble back. " The hell was that?!" Gajeel shouted. " Coats!" I cried I saw roughly a dozen crimson uniforms surrounding the building. Sniffers were sure to follow, then we were screwed. I ducked back into the window, narrowly avoiding another bullet. " What are we gonna do?!" Lucy asked in a panic as I started running through ideas. Then I remember. I dug in toy bag and pulled out the vials Droy gave me. " I'm gonna make a run for it, once the coast is clear head for Droys." I said. " We arnt using you as bait!" Gajeel nearly shouted.
" We doing have a choice Gajeel, the people need that medicean. I'm willing to risk my life to make sure they get it." I said as I glared at him. I was surprised by the harshness of my voice almost as much as he was. He frowned but quickly climbed back down to the ground and I raised an eye brow. He came back with an empty box and canvas bag. "Gotta make sure it looks like we have something." He muttered. " We?" I questioned and he nodded. "You ain't going alone shrimp."
He took the vials from me and popped them open, putting one in the box and one in the bag. He slung the bag over his shoulder before handing me the box. He looked at me for a long moment before I nodded and looked to Lucy. " Don't stop. Keep running and don't turn around. " Her eyes were watery but she bit her lip and nodded. I looked to Gajeel again just before he hauled himself out the window. I quickly followed, trying to dodge the onslaught of bullets, but I noticed Gajeel stayed centered in front of me, being a shield. I glared at his back, making a note to scold him later.
We turned and headed away from Droys lab, making sure to take the pack of sniffers and coats with us. I could hear the sniffers cough like barks and snapping of teeth as they followed us across the ground. I followed Gajeel as he ran deeper into the warehouse district, leaping higher into the buildings. He leapt ahead of me. barely making the catch of an eave when I saw it, the black of his shirt growing darker at his shoulder. I gritted my teeth but I knew we couldn't stop, or we would be caught. I jumped after him, pulling myself up the roof. " Get ready to toss the box and make a detour." He called, unslinging the bag from his shoulder and i thought I saw him wince.
I nodded as we continued to run across roof tops. He slid down the edge of the roof, and as he hit the edge, he jumped, dropping the bag far below. I followed suit, letting the box in my hands fall into the darkness below before landing and taking flight once more. " There."I called, pointing up a few building away, a large rotten roof garden near the edge of the district. "We can take cover in there." He nodded and adjusted course, veering to the side. I was now running beside him, one building to go, it's roof a dirty grey tin feature.
Or that's what I thought.
As we jumped to the abandoned building and the moon was uncovered by the clouds, I could see it wasn't tin. It was glass. Broken glass. The roof of the five story building was completely covered in cracked and broken glass, and I was barely able to gasp in surprise before our falling bodies made contact, and the glass gave way.
