He believed they had all the time in the world. But sadly, that was just an unrealistic dream.

Joshua woke up at his usual time preparing for an average day until he saw a note left on his nightstand. Not much wording but enough to get his heart racing.

Jisoo,
Thank you for all that you've done for me. I'll never forget you.
- S

Joshua reread the words over and over, hoping that somehow it would change into something else. That somehow the girl he fell in love with would burst through his door and claim it was just a cruel prank.

They met months ago on a chaotic day. Joshua was strolling down the street when he heard a loud explosion. The ground underneath him trembled and people ran in the opposing direction. He made a sharp turn into an unsuspecting alleyway to avoid any street or security camera and faded until nothing seemed to be left of him. His body and clothes became transparent.

The young man quickly squeezed through the swarm of panicking bystanders. Towards the origin of the explosion. Joshua saw bodies faced down on the floor covered in blood. To his horror he saw people trampled over and disregard the dead bodies as they ran for their life. As Joshua got closer to the crime scene he realized just how intense everything actually was.

Joshua saw scraps of city property on the floor. Bodies seared and scattered from the explosion. Injured people on the streets groaning in pain as distant ambulance sirens became louder and more clear.

Joshua was about to leave until something unusual caught his eye. A girl left unscathed hovering above another woman. Joshua approached the two.

He came closer only to see the lady's wounds were recovering quickly, too quickly. Joshua's jaw dropped. In the moment of shock his guard was left down and he was left visible once again. "You," he hesitated, "You're a-"

The girl looked up at Joshua. Her face registering sudden worry and desperation. She breathlessly whispered, "Please don't hurt me."

Joshua was going to deny whatever ill intentions the girl assumed he had for her but was cut off by the sounds of nearby sirens approaching the scene. Joshua hurriedly grabbed onto the girl's arm. He pulled her up and ran whilst still keeping a tight grip on her arm. "We have to go." Joshua explained while still running. His voice was unstable and shaky.

"W-Wait but-!" The girl looked back at the woman she had healed.

"She'll live," Joshua answered shortly. "She isn't in danger but both of us will be if the police catch us." He made a quick turn into an alleyway and waited for the police to pass them. Once the coast was cleared Joshua took a deep breath of relief.

The girl stared at him in bewilderment. "Hold on, you said 'us'. Are you also-..."

Joshua looked at the girl and nodded, "I'm Jisoo but you can call me Joshua. And you are?"

"Saeri."

Joshua took a moment to scan the girl in front of him. She wore dirty and tattered clothes. She was almost the same height as him but slightly shorter. Saeri had long brown hair that cascaded past her shoulders. She had long bang that almost covered her eyes making Joshua wonder if that was her style or if she just hadn't had the time to cut it.
