It had been a month since the first day back at Hogwarts and Harry couldn't have been happier. Malfoy and himself were now close friends. Ron and Hermione didn't know. Harry was afraid of their reactions if he did. He knew he would have to tell them eventually though.
Ron, Hermione and him were sitting in Harry's (and Draco's) dorm writing an essay for Potions. Draco was in the bathroom showering. Harry was trying and failing to find the page in his Potion's book about Memory potions.
"What page is this on?" Harry asked the room at large.
"Page 669 Harry." Malfoy said, walking out of the bathroom with a comb in his hand.
"Thank you." Harry said, flipping to the right page.
Ron and Hermione exchanged confused glances but didn't say anything. Malfoy put his comb on his desk and sat down on his bed. After twenty minutes of silence Harry leaned back in his chair and ran his hands through his hair. Potions had always been difficult for Harry. He stood and walked over to where Nyra and Soren were perched. He stroked each one a few times.
"Draco can you toss me the owl treats behind you?" Harry asked.
"Yeah sure," Draco said, grabbing the treats, "give some to Soren too." He said as he tossed them to Harry, who missed them.
Draco chuckled. "Nice catch butterfingers." He said smiling.
Harry smiled. "Hardy har har. Shove off." He said jokingly and picked up the bag of treats off the ground. Ron and Hermione exchanged glances again.
"Er Harry we're going to head off." Hermione said, gathering her books and essay.
"Oh alright then." Harry said glancing at the two of them. "See you tomorrow guys."
"See ya Harry." Ron said, casting a glance between Harry and Malfoy.
"Goodnight Harry." Hermione said and they were both gone.
Malfoy laughed. "I think they're thoroughly confused now."
Harry smiled and sat on his bed. "Yeah you're right." He said.
"Are you ever gonna tell them we don't hate each other anymore?" Malfoy asked.
"Eventually. Unless Hermione figures it out. Which she probably will." Harry said leaning back against his headboard.
Malfoy chuckled. "Yeah she will." He said as he stood up. He cast a silencing charm on the door and Harry knew what he was going to do. He watched Malfoy pull out his guitar. It had become a sort of routine. Malfoy always played his guitar in the afternoon or early night. Harry loved listening to him play and loved singing along.
"Mind if I sing?" Harry asked.
"You always do don't you?" Draco asked as he looked at Harry and smiled.
Harry's heart sped up slightly. He hated to admit it but he was positive he was slowly falling in love with Draco Malfoy. The blonde sat on his bed and started playing. They played and sang until they were both too tired to continue.

Harry woke up with a start. He had had a nightmare for the first time in months. He realized he was crying and shaking. He tried to stop but the tears kept coming and the shaking continued. Harry sat up and hugged his knees to his chest. Trying and failing not to be too loud so he wouldn't wake up Malfoy.
"Harry?....Are you alright?" Harry heard Malfoy's sleepy voice come through the darkness.
He took a deep breath and tried to keep his voice steady. "Er yeah I'm fine." Harry said but his voice cracked and he cringed.
"That doesn't sound like fine Harry." Malfoy said and Harry heard the rustling of blankets as Malfoy got out of bed. The next second the room was filled with light. Harry blinked and looked at Malfoy, who had walked over to Harry's bed and sat down on the edge of it.
"Harry what happened?" Malfoy asked, looking at Harry.
"S'just a nightmare." Harry said as tears continued pouring from his eyes. He raised his arm and wiped the tears from his cheeks, trying not to shake but failing miserably.
"Harry you're shaking like crazy." Malfoy said. Harry glanced at the blonde then buried his head in his knees before he started crying more.
Harry felt Malfoy move closer and he tensed. The next second he felt strong arms drawing him close and Harry buried his face in Malfoy's chest. Harry felt Malfoy put his arms around him. He hoped Malfoy couldn't hear his heartbeat that was currently beating out of his chest. He had never been this close to Malfoy before.
"It's alright...You're safe...You're okay...Everything's okay." Draco said quietly as he rubbed Harry's back comfortingly.
"I'm sorry for waking you up." Harry said quietly.
"I'd rather be sitting hear doing this and be exhausted in the morning than have you sitting here crying in the dark on your own." Draco said.
Harry smiled slightly and slowly he began to calm down. His heart? He couldn't help that even if he tried.
